Just a little reminder: there is a *huge and infernal* bug since Late Night (I think it came with the patch from LN, so even if you don't have the EP you might suffer this bug). It's called the 'well rested' bug, although that's a bit of a joke 

Basically, your Sims will end up in very bad mood after some time, red-orange mood meter, whatever the positive moodlets they have. When they sleep in 'bad' beds, the cheaper ones, this happens very fast. So, a very good bed is probably one of the first investment to do.

But I have seen my Sims plagued with bad mood, even when they were 'full' of extra positive moodlets (top comfort + deco, expensive spa package, LTW fulfilled...). The only thing to do is to save and then exit to main menu, and reload your game. The game will accurately render their mood again.

So, no marathon session as long as the bug is not fixed

Yeah, that was the biggest issue I had. I think I would've made it in time if it wasn't for that bug. When I tried to make him raise up his skills, he wouldn't because his mood was extremely low. I think this time I'll take it slow so I won't have the same problem as before.

I have a couple of questions regarding my dynasty:

1) I know the moodlet manager has been accepted as a LTR, but can a mortal have one? My first generation spouse has enough points for one but I'm not sure if I would be allowed to have him get one and then use it on the immortals and other family members. Same goes for the food replicator and other physical rewards that he would leave behind once he passes on.

Yep, those rewards are fine for all Sims — mortals and immortals.

2) Are we allowed to have an immortal marry someone and then break up with them (but not kick them out of course), and then remarry? I guess I'm not sure if this would be considered cheating or not because of all the extra help 2 mortals could be. One of them could focus on sculpting whilst the other paints etc. Is this allowed? I noticed Metro Recipe married Agnes and then remarried, but that was after she died...

Yes, that's okay as well. As long as no one is moved out and your helpers/spouses live a full life.

Anyone know a strategy to make the founder immortal before he dies? I just spent 10 hours straight on my first attempt and the founder died of old age at 89 days. I was hoping to get a little bit extra time.   I started another one but this time gave the spouse 2 skills to be in charge of and hopefully I'll make it in time.

One other thing I have learnt from this forum is have a radio going near the Sim as they get a good moodlet buff from that. I am not sure if it matters if its actually on their favourite station or not but I got the cheap radio to start with and that helped a lot.

Yeah, I did that too. Their favorite station gives you 20+ and the others give you 10+ I think. But it's only as long as they're in the same room as the radio. When my sim was in the living room, his mood was fine but once I sent him to the bathroom he instantly became miserable. I hope EA fixes that bug soon.

Hmmm...yes, you need to be patched. Try asking in the Technical board for help.

The spouse can count towards the BF requirement. As far as getting everything done before a Founder would die...yeah, it is tough I agree. What specific areas are you having trouble accomplishing — the BF, the investments, the SuperMax skill, the career? Just provide a little more detail and we can jump in with more tips.

Wouldn't do any good because I don't have the room or the internet speed. I am using dial up. AH! well. Thanks anyway.

Hi, haven't posted here for a while, but I decided to start a new dynasty in Barnacle Bay, and I was wondering, can celebrity opportunities be used for the necessary immortal BlackOps?  I'm not sure if they're included in the 'special' opportunity category.

Yes, celebrity opportunities are allowed.  Just make sure you don't let any other Immortal do the same opportunities if it's being counted as a BlackOps.

I have a question about best friends.

I think I read somewhere on this thread that family members could be best friends but they can't 'double up'.

For example:
Immortal 1 can be best friends with her husband and child (immortal 2). But immortal 2 cannot count their father as a best friend (because then immortal 1 loses a unique best friend) or their mother (because that would be doubling up?).

Umm, yeah, is that how it is?  

And... Can 2 immortals have the same best friend as long as they don't both count him/her to be their unique best friend? Immortal 2 is inevitably going to end up best friends with her father but as long as she doesn't count him as a unique best friend he can still count as immortal 1's unique best friend, right?

Correct. The husband/father in your example would be a BF to two different immortals. Now, obviously, that does not prevent you from having him as a BF to both — but, we're just talking Ambrosia requirements here and unique BF—just one immortal would claim him for the requirement.

A question about the heir's. I was thinking about starting another immortal dynasty and was planning on marrying my founder to Clare Ursine. But then I remembered she's pregnant. Would the heir have to be related to the founder? I don't see that anywhere in the rules but I thought I should make sure first.

Most definitely. Your Founder needs to pass on his blood too —

• All offspring must result from natural pregnancies of Sims living in the Dynasty house.

Technically she would be living in the Dynasty house before she gives birth. But oh well. I guess I'll just cross her off my list. (Yes, I do actually have a list of potential spouses.)
