So is it okay that I did the Riverview one instead? I read the edit town post over and over and it seemed fine to me. I hope I don't have to start over, but I'm only in Gen 2 so I guess it's not that bad if I do need to restart.

Is it okay to plant the Life Fruit from the Coastal's home in BB to grow life fruit for ambrosia?

Yes, especially because that's basically your only bet for getting life fruit in Barnacle Bay, due to the lack of spawners. The only stipulation for life fruit in this challenge is that it's grown by you, so plant what you pick and you'll be golden.

And if you want even more life fruit to pick, Rose Rome has a few vines in her yard.

Are professions (Showtime and Ambitions) allowed and manageable careers for heirs and heiresses?

Since there is a problem with story progression, (Sims don't marry and have babies autonomously), would it be ok, BEFORE you actually enter your game, and while you are in Edit Town Mode, to go into the various households and have each household with couples try for baby, leaving the female pregnant?  You then finish up placing whatever venues, change from household to household to basically impregnate the entire town,  choose to be out of all the households, save the game and then make your character and actually enter play?

To be clear the steps you take would be:

1. go into your town and choose Edit Town.

 2. Place any venues or items like bookshelves.

3. Select any household and try for baby.

4. Go into Edit Town and choose a new household.  Try for baby.  Rinse and repeat till all females are preggers.

5. Remove yourself from all households and save game so your town is now edited with all females pregnant.

6. Create your Sim and begin  to play your Immortal Dynasty per usual.

I'm thinking this would give a bigger gene pool without having to have someone in your own household going around "pollinating".  Of course, it would only work for the first heir but it could be interesting.
What?  Grannies can't play games?

No, not at all. It's not an allowed use of Edit Town, and it still counts as playing households other than your dynasty one.

You're stuck doing the dirty work as well as you can within the restraints of playing a dynasty household.

Another thing you could do though, Joria, if you have UL, is have either your founder SuperMax science, or have the founder's spouse or other roommates do it. Get to cloning townies and making them into babies.

This may be a strange question, the dog ate my special seed and it popped up about eating a life fruit. I didn't have anywhere to store the seeds yet except on the ground. Does this affect anything?

It is banned for pets to eat life fruit, I'm sorry that's the rule.

You can store the special seeds (the ones with value) in the refrigerator, its only the special seeds that is value $0 cannot be put into the fridge.  But then special seeds with $0 are death flower and money tree, so it is okay for your pet to eat them.  The special seeds with value are flame fruit and life fruit.

Thanks, Shirin that's a great idea.

@ Trip:  Well, I didn't think  it would be allowed but it was worth a question.  Too bad because it would be a great way to populate.  I really hate the infidelity involved in "pollinating" but Shirrin's idea is a good choice.

Okay, I'm crazy for doing this, but I'm giving this another shot. I'm not doing a involved story like Colt's Return. But I have created a clean EA folder with no mods.  :o
