I'll give it a shot later tonight or tomorrow. :)

EDIT: Bummer. Factory reset didn't help at all with the issue.

Do you have a previous save of this file?  You can go back to it in a case like this.

I would suggest playing that backup as normal (though not as a HOF entry) to see if the issue still occurs when you catch up with your original save. See if it's a result of an action, just a one-off (the best result) or that the game accumulates too much data to handle in that file that it simply goes kaput.

Have you tried uninstalling the tree of Prosperity? I read somewhere (I'm looking for the link but can't find it - it was both here and on the official forum) that it could decrees lag that came with the latest patch. I have tried it in my game and it cleared up the problem with the game clock freezing several times a day.

@Pam, Seabody: I loaded my backup out of curiosity last night, and it works just fine.

@Saltpastillen: I don't have the Tree of Prosperity, so that isn't the issue. And it still had the same problem in a factory reset folder without any Store content whatsoever.

Can I place a festival ground from another world to Dragon Valley, if i don't demolish the original park?

Is the festival ground made by the Gurus?  If yes, then you can.  I copied and paste the edit town rules below.

Can I place the festival lots made by the Gurus for Monte Vista and Dragon Valley?
 -- Yes.  These are considered official lots.   Please note that the Dragon Valley festival lot needs to be designated a festival ground in order to spawn festivals.   This is the only lot that you can place that is allowed to have it's designation changed.   No other lot placed by you can ever have it's designation changed.

I know about the festival lots Gurus have made for Exhange, but i didn't mean those. I meant the ones you'll get in your community lot bin when you install Seasons. The one from Exhange is designed to be pasted on an already existing park, but what if I want to leave that park where it is and put a festival ground, let's say from Sunset Valley or Barnacle Bay, to a different lot? Is that allowed?

I meant actually play the backup -- keep it as non-HOF just in case, but play it up to the point you are currently at in the HOF save. If there is the same level of lag at that point, you may need to get Metro's permission to install Overwatch for one cycle (ie until 3AM game time) and then immediately rip it out to clear up lag.

Ah, I see what you mean. I'll give it a try. :)

If nothing else, I'll gain more screenshots to work with. ;)

EDIT: Don't you hate it when you ignore the most simple solution to your problem?

I followed Seabody's advice, copied my backup and started playing it again to the point of lag, and it started to lag again, but not at the same point. Then I thought that maybe the problem was my active sim. Both times I got hit with lag, it was when my inventor was the active sim. Apparently the game isn't too keen on someone carrying around hundreds or thousands of pieces of scrap in their inventory. So I managed to move all her scrap to the workbench and my game runs so much better now.

So should I return to the later save and try moving her scrap to the workbench?

@Trip

Yes, if you can use the later save and try moving the scraps.  Good luck.

Here again asking stupid questions. Is it so that when I create my Founder or when a heir ages up to YA, the LTW needs to be chosen from the 5 the game offers? Or can I choose any LTW I want?

@Serenity S.

You are confusing the rules with the life state dynasty.  For the immortal dynasty, you can pick any LTW you want for your founder.  For the heir, you can pick LTW before they ages up to YA, or you can pick them at YA, no restriction.  You can also use "change lifetime wish" reward if you need later on in life.  The only restriction is that heirs/immortals all must have different lifetime wish.
