Yes, that's fine. It's the heir who cannot have a kid with someone else.

Since plumbots are allowed to be created for the bot building career, are they allowed to be tuned up before being sold? I did this in old old dynasty and didn't get told off for it so I assumed it's OK.

What is the protocol for dealing with the "random foreign child" bug? It affected my teenage heiress, and I didn't notice it until she took another trip to France and ran into a kid with the family name, who turned out to be her son.

I'm certain that I'm not the first one who has had an heir end up with a foreign child out of nothing, but this thread is unwieldy to search.

When it happened to me Rica let me go back to the pre travel save, gen 5 had just married and I sent them on honeymoon to Egypt only when they arrived her surname had changed to Hosni and she had a teenage daughter in town with her purple hair.

She had been to Egypt with her parents before that and that trip was fine, it was the return trip that spawned this teenage kid out of nowhere so chances are your random child just appeared during this visit and is not from the previous one. One thing that did happen is some Egyptians they met died between visits and I think the game had to spawn new sims when she went back and that's where the mix up occured.

The team has to discuss this, will get back to you with an answer soon.

ok, a couple questions about elders:  i've never actually played a sim to elder before(usually play a sim till its kid is out of school then move the kid out and play that sim.  also, its my wifes game and until now haven't been that interested in it) and was wondering if elders can have jobs.  if they can have jobs is it ok to give elders the same job as long as they each have a unique career?

Elders can have jobs, yes. You can give all your immortals a new job once they reach the top of their unique one. I just prefer for mine to keep their old one. :P

I see. I do have a save from before that trip, and I think I'd lose a week of progress at most (which isn't bad). If this was any other sim who got affected, I'd just shrug it off and be cool with the idea of extended family abroad. Travel has been especially buggy for me in this particular file, but there's a part of me that can't resist returning.

Team has decided that plumbot needs to be sold right after you create them.  Plumbots may be made but cannot stay in the household after they are made.

OK, thanks for that.

You have permission to go back to a pre-travel save.

Thanks, Nutella. :) I can deal with bugs and broken family trees and foreign kids that arrive after heirs do, but I might hold off on traveling for my unmarried, childless heirs. Sucks, but I'll live.

Now to find a good save!

My heir got married to a proprietor but when I went to play the game today, he vanished. He's not in town or anyone's buddy list, what should I do?

I used to run into similar problems, and the prescribed fix was to go back to a previous save.

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully you'll get the greenlight for a fix soon!

Go back to a previous save. If he still disappears then let us know.

Thank you, I'll let you know in a few minutes.

Edit: I can't find the potential spouse now, I've checked Performance Park and other venues :[
