Hello, I have another question :D

I want to ask about this rules:

Quote
Sending children to boarding school is okay.

How it is works in Dynasty Challenge? Umm, I ask this because I never send my Sim to boarding school before. So, I want to try something new. Anyone can share their experience about this one? Thank you in advance ^^

Sending kids/teens to boarding school basically makes them unplayable and out of the house but taken care of and learning for the duration of their time there. I wouldn't recommend sending heirs to boarding school because you won't get to choose their traits (you won't get bad traits, but they're selected from a limited pool), they can learn skills that you might be saving for other immortals, and you'd have to make sure to get their museum pieces taken care of before you send them.

When you send a child away to boarding school, depending on the school, they will gain different skills and you have the bonus of not having to deal with the boring child stage.

I personally only use it for spares if I don't need them to learn a particular skill. I don't like sending targeted immortals as I don't want to risk them gaining any extra skills and I like to micromanage.

Because I very rarely use the boarding school option I am not the best person to ask about this hopefully other members can step in and help.

Thank you for giving me insight, Trip. Just looking at “can’t choose traits” part ... I think I will consider this option for a spare instead an heir. And yes, sending to boarding school is too risky…

Thank you for sharing your experience, ratchie! I never use this option at all while doing a normal gameplay. I might do that for spares though, just to satisfy my curiosity.  It's nice to hear from other experience. So, thank you again :)

Geneticially engineering a child is not allowed in this dynasty.

Is this for heirs only, or heirs and spares and helpers?

(Same question would apply to 4x4 and Deca)

It is banned all together no matter what dynasty.

Finally finished my dynasty after 9 real life months and 59 weeks 7 days in game, I'm so happy right now  ;D

Also decided to take the plunge and start sharing the story I wrote for it, although that's giving me nervous palpitations at the moment, feels a little like sharing my soul I got so involved with this family and it was a very personal journey.

Congratulations, Turoskel! And do enjoy that special feeling when you achieve something as big as this!
I shall be looking forward to reading the actual story. Well done! :)

I commented on your story thread too, but this feels like a better place to say congrats on finishing! Great job!

I've decided to do an Immortal Dynasty, and miraculously, my unstable computer hasn't crashed yet. However when I went down to put my founder's two BlackOps down, I couldn't for the life of me remember what they were called.  :-[ As I highly doubt they will ever get to HoF anyway, due to the crashing that made me put the CrumpleFours on hold, I don't really care as I will know she did the six ops anyway, but...does anyone know what these were called:
  • The one where you have to deliver a report file to the City Hall to get funding for the Science Facility
  • The one where your boss at the Science Facility asks you to read the book Practical Science: From Boast to Beaker
