Extra consignment registers on lots owned by your family are perfectly fine.

Is the elixir shop register bugged too? You can consign fish there as well.

I haven't tried the elixir consignment store. Thanks for the tip, Trip! (Try saying that five times faster!)

Sorry to double post, but I have another problem. I've just noticed that at least two of the sims in the dynasty household are a day behind where they should be on their age meters. The third heir always ages up on a Thursday, but she is now scheduled to age up on the Friday. The other teen in the household is two days older than her (Adopted by a spare) and is now scheduled to age up on the Wednesday instead of the Tuesday. Should I wait until the day the game says they should age up or should I age them up on the correct day, but a day early? I am certain aging is off and they definitely haven't had any life extending things. It may be a temporary stuck aging bug but I'm not sure.

The elixir consignment store works, thanks again for the tip, Trip!

Hello!
I started this very interessing challenge and i am gen 3 as teen now.

(gen1: cook. gen2:garden/nectar. gen3 future artist painting/sculpting/photo maybe not all of these i ll see)

I went up to a full 8 ppl household but i m down now to my 3 immortals and the last husband (so 4 in all) so i have to quickly take some helpers again, my third immortal wont take painting pic or sculpture of herself.

I found the starting easy as a cook, first day i joined 4 people in and could build directly a nice starting house. My first gen as cook was ready for imo at end of young adult so... My only big sadness were when the social service took my cat back i was too busy with my 7 other people so he was running low on social needs...

My problem now is: my town is like EMPTY only a bunch of elder people most of the houses are to sell with nobody inside. I went all around, i launched a couple of parties. I found only 2-3 young adults (paparazi and shop owner) which are not so attractive.

I m only gen 3 so i m worrying for the future, will my town remain empty?
We lose a lot of fun if the town is dying like this. I suppose it s the EA story progression.

What can I do? I presume it s not allowed to import some fresh blood in the Edit Town (like EA created households)?

Another thing i found a little annoying in the challenge till now is to manage so much elder people i would have liked to put my imo back to young adult as soon as they fullfill their requirement. elder are slow moving, not so nice to look at them all the time and with all these helpers there are already a bunch of old people.
Thanks again for this nice challenge.

PS: sorry for my poor english, please consider that i m not native :)

and i m playing in lucky palms and i have mostly all extensions of the game.
For the population problem it s something new for me because before i tend to move in foreign visitors or i used another story progression from nraas.
But here no mod allowed and travel is considered buggy so i tried to avoid it till now.

any suggestion?

Welcome violaine.

There is a thread FULL of tips and suggestions at http://www.carls-sims-3-guide.com/forum/index.php/topic,12247.0.html

The lack of young people is an unfortunate consequence of just how neutered EA's Story Progression is these days. There are some tricks in that thread to force the game to add new younger people. As enough of the Elders die off, new people will be moved in though it is a very slow process and the ones it generates tend to be rather unattractive.

I had the same issue with my cats in my current dynasty - 7 people (4 adults, 3 kids), 2 cats, and 3 Imaginary Friends... The cats just sorta got overlooked until it was to late, though you would think that they would have socialized with each other.

thank you Zyffyr for the link and your welcome but this thread looks like a big spoiler to me: all the tips put together...

I really dont want to know how other players made it before i made it myself :)
I hope you understand me :)

Could you just summarize what could be done, please? Sounds interessing.

I thought to send my household woohoo everywhere around but this doesnt seems easy and i have mostly women so wont work either.

Easiest thing to do is have a spare male around to populate the town with nooboos.  Immediate heirs can't choose them if they are cousins, but others maybe able to.  Or, if you want to make sure they are unrelated, have a male from outside the family move in, and do the same thing, just have him have a bunch of girlfriends around town and have them have nooboos... lots of nooboos.  Male IF's would make great baby-makers for this purpose as well as great helpers for other skills/things you may need.

ok i see thanks for the tip.

never made it before so as i supposed if a man make babies they stay with the woman outside the household. Good.

I just took one in my family i hope they are still enough not-elder-women to do so around now... Or they are going to be very related between each other outside mt household :)

Well anyway thanks.

Gonna be quite busy, between running to have sculptor-painter-pic  in time inside and repopulate outside!

What is a male "IF" ?

another one i have to try one day ...

So many things to do in this sims3 even if i tend to avoid the supernatural things till now.

They seems not really needed (like alchemy, potions, transfigurification and so on) with my gen3 teen we have already 2 million house with the 8 best cars,as 2 million cash and a whole bunch of statues/painting to sell
But i couldnt resist to make me a bottle of nectar of 200 000 sim, just the fun to see its prize growing so quickly ...

Challenge is very nice helped me to play through generations, usually i stop after 1 gen all immortals in a huge house.

I m no expert but all this kind of challenge could be "scripted" so they would be easier to play (no danger to break the rules) and they desserve to be integrated in the game

thanks for your quick reply

I had the exact same problem in my dynasty, in a previous failed attempt story progression was doing great keeping the town alive, this one it was full of elders or almost elders by the time generation 2 hit young adult  ::)

If you have generations I recommend getting somebody to do the daycare career for a bit, a spare will do, I used my founder as she had already become Immortal and had little else to do, it makes the game generate toddlers and kids, some it will move into town, some it will move in later as they grow up but it helped bring my town back to life quite well, they will be generic clones unfortunately.

While you may not wish to marry them due to the generic look it does give more best friend options and younger ones too, otherwise they tend to keep dying off just when you need them.

There are numerous strategies one can use for this Dynasty.  A great place to check some of these out is to actually read the Immortal Dynasty stories as well as check out the Hall of Fame where people have successfully completed them are placed.

i m gonna try this daycare, looks great. thx
long time i want to try it anyway.

And no i dont want to read tricks and tips from others till i finish my first one ! (apart when i find a generic problem coming from EA like the story progression and i want to find a good workabout.)

Still now all going smoothly well so i still have hope to finish it from first shot, even if it s far away from any optimization

My 5th immortal is supermaxing material arts. She has completed all the skill challenges except 'Grand Master'. Her second opponent is of course a store clerk. He is always at work and therefor cannot be selected to fight. I have tried befriending him wile he is at work but the option to fight doesn't appear. I have looked around on net for solutions, but the only solution I have found requires to either delete him or move him into the household and out again. Both methods aren't allowed in an immortal dynasty.

Are there anyone who knows any other way to get around the bug? I would really really hate to loose this dynasty. She has just turned adult so there is a tiny chance I might be able to supermax another skill, but I  would much prefer not to take that chance.

I ran into that problem with martial arts. Only mine was with a paparazzi. The first time they fought, but the paparazzi became a paparazzi before the end of the bout, and left, yet it was classed as a loss to my sim. The paparazzi in question won't return for a return bout, and I seem unable to get it to change.

Mine is still a young adult and so I've got a second skill maxed for him, and am working away on the skill challenges for that skill. What is that skill? Photography, of course. :D
