Pity party for one...

So after lurking on these boards for a long time I have read multiple posts of people not saving often enough and the game crashing or freezing. I think everyone knows where this is going... I did not learn from others and now my game is stuck on the loading screen to plan a new outfit. Is it bad I'm thankful that it was only two hours of game play lost? And why do you never seem to learn from others' mistakes? Pity party over.

On a different note has any one else found that Agnes lives for a really long time? Before my game got stuck she was pushing 108 days old.

Sorry to hear about being stuck on the loading screen. It took me a while to learn about the value of saving often too.

As for the length of time that sims live, it's entirely random. I'm certain that someone has had an Agnes who went right at 90.

Well Agnes is now pushing 110 days old. She has out lived two other Sims and has earned her LTW. It's going to be really shocking when she dies.

EDIT: Well Agnes finally bit the dust at 111 days old. Time to bring in the third generation I guess.

There is a thread with 25 pages of hints and tips HERE that is really helpful for anyone attempting an Immortal Dynasty challenge. There are tips from Dynasty moguls like Rica and some tips from members part way through their first. Good luck!

You can add new, EA-made lots, but if I'm thinking of rearrangement in the same way that you are (replacing lots), then that's a straight no.

I don't think you can. Changing the lots that you or the game places, even if just for aesthetics, isn't a good enough to reason to warrant extra Edit Town usage. But maybe someone from the Team begs to differ.

I could have sworn I read about this recently, but it wasn't on the first page it is however in Rica's edit town post.

Quote
When I load up a new game, there are sometimes lots auto placed onto the empty lots the town came with.  Am I allowed to move them/delete them?
-- As long as you are not removing any of the town's original community lots, yes you can delete or move them.  The equestrian center is on the dynasty lot when you start the game, yes you can delete it and move either the large one or small one to another lot in the town.   Do not place the equestrian center on top of a lot that was already there like the fishing hole between the Landgraabs & Altos.  If you don't want that Katy Perry BonBon park behind the police station, go ahead and remove it from the town.  If you need to place a 60x60 lot at the end of Pinochle Road for a studio but the junkyard is in the large 40x40 lot at the end, move the junkyard to another lot in order to place the new lot where you need to.

So yes auto placed lots you can move, it's just any original lots you can't.

You can't move them in the challenges, I think this is why I get confused at times, so many rules and each set has it's own unique things to it.

Hi, guys, quick question. There are a lot of grey circle things on a few properties in town so I was wondering if I could use Edit Town to remove them. Thanks!

Are those the SocialJig objects? You can merely use cheats to remove those, though that still requires permission to do.

Yeah, that's what they are. How would I use the cheats to remove them if I got permission?

I'm pretty sure you use testingcheatsenabled true and shift-click to delete the object, but I haven't needed to fix that problem in my own game, so someone should correct me if I'm wrong.

I have a theory about those although not totally proven, but one of my household spares was a jock and always trying to take a photo with others which since the last patch they just stand there for ages with nothing happening then it cancels, I noticed those things appearing in my house in spots where she tried to do that and they only started to appear since that patch, since she died I've not found any in my house at all, move objects will enable you to pick them up on a lot you own but otherwise it's as Trip said.

There's quite a few in my town but as long as they aren't blocking routing I've just left them, Rica did say if they became a problem to let her know but so far they haven't, the one outside the bistro door is a little bothersome if there are a few sims about but it doesn't actually block the door so they can get around it.

Can someone explain to me why testingcheatsenabled true is banned? This may have been answered already, but I have not seen it. It seems odd to me, unless Editing a Sim in CAS can reset their age - though if that was the case one could just do it on their birthday.

With testingcheatsenabled true, you can adjust motives, change traits and I believe you can remove any unwanted moodlets, but I'm not sure. In short, it makes the game very easy and eliminates the need for much money, really.
