The Sims 3 Immortal Dynasty Challenge

You have to do it within a certain time frame though.  I've tried this recently in a challenge and the kid must have missed the window to go to school because he never went in and couldn't because it was a Snow Day.

Now I wonder what the time frame is, I've been able to do it from first notification (7am?) up until about 830am.

So maybe to be on the safe side, the moment you get that notification, just click on sending the kids to school?

I have heard somewhere that it has to be before you get the notification, but I am not sure.It say its snow day and that schools not it session if you go after.

Hey guys. Hope you're having a great summer, or soon to be at least here in the US. Lots of fun in the sun!
Anyways, two questions about the Immortal Dynasty. Not sure if these were asked before, but since this page has so many pages, I feel like this will kind of serve as a refresher for those with little time to be scrolling through all 350+ pages here.
First, when an heir or founder has to have the 6 best friends, can they be from family members as well? Or do they all have to be outside the home and bloodlines? Also sort of joined with that, do any of those friends have to be NPCs?
Second, when buying properties, does the person required to upgrade the lot have to buy it? Or can another household member buy it for them and it automatically counts towards them?

For the immortal dynasty, literally anyone and anything can be a best friend, from your immortal's spouse to their car. As long as they consistently show up in the relationship panel, they can be a best friend. There isn't a requirement for any of the best friends to be NPCs, but you can certainly count an NPC if you end up befriending one.

It has to be the immortal in question buying properties/buildings.

To add to what Trip said, yes, anyone/anything can be a best friend, so long as you make sure not to can't the same best friend for two different Immortals. So, for example, Generation 2 can be best friends with the Founder and with Generation 3. However, if the Founder counts Generation 2 as a best friend for the requirements, Generation 3 cannot count Generation 2. That is crucial.

Rules Updates:


All content that came with Dragon Valley and the venue "The Duke of Bows Renaissance Faire" is approved and available to play with.   There are four lots for players to choose from when starting an Immortal Dynasty in Dragon Valley.  The list has been updated on the main rules page.

The Violin Skill is not eligible as a possible Supermax due to it's lack of challenges.

With the release of the Armored Black Dragon, it has been decided that all deathflowers placed in an immortal's inventory must be homegrown.   This means that while you can get the dragon to give you a death flower, you wouldn't be able to use it for anything other than growing more death flower bushes. 

Another quick clarification that has come up is about cloning ingredients.  Ingredients are allowed to be cloned for ambrosia but only if the sample came from a homegrown plant or caught fish.  This means you have to have someone  grow the first life fruit you use and have a sim/cat actually catch the first deathfish. 

The rules for Edit Town have been updated to include the three new venues that allowed to have lot designation changes.   The Community Garden, Dragon Tavern and McCafferty's Pub are all eligible for rezoning.   The official festival lot released by SimGuruSmitty is allowed to be placed as well.   Note:  It doesn't actually spawn festivals though.  This should be fixed in the future.  If you start an immortal dynasty before it's available, you will not be able to place the fixed version when it is fixed.  So if you want festivals, I suggest placing one from the other towns.     You have to make the lot a festival grounds lot to make it spawn the actual festivals.

Just remember if you started a dynasty in this world prior to approval it's not HOF eligible.  We warned people not to jump the gun on it.

Oh no, I know that ^^  I've been doing my own testing, just exploring the world itself.  I haven't made a dynasty of it.  But I am currently planning for one in there eventually XD Gotta get through my first Dynasty though before I actually start another one XD

There is something I forgot to mention:

Recent change regarding the use of Union Cove:    Players who wish to play in Union Cove have prior approval to demolish Metro's Mansion and Amberlea Manor.   Also, Velmoor De D'Onlyn is not allowed to enter the household or count as a best friend for the best friend requirement.   He doesn't age and therefore could be a huge advantage to someone.   

If you have already started a dynasty in UC and would like to demolish those two lots, you may do so.  However, if you've already started, you cannot place any new lots on the new empty spaces.
