Sounds good.   People have had it work in mysterious ways.  Others can't get it to ever work.  It's one of the most frustrating challenges for a dynasty second only to guitar star.

Something I have been curious about for the challenge is Bars.  I like playing in Sunset Valley.  However, almost none of the EA made bars will fit in the lots there.  Before starting the challenge, can I use Edit Town to set empty lots to the different bar types so I can later buy the lots with my household and build the bars myself that way?

That's not allowed. If you want bars primarily for a mixology supermax, it's actually a much better idea to add professional bars to other properties that you own. Setting up professional bars at the pool, the beach, and the art gallery can cover a lot of the drinks needed to supermax mixology (there was a more comprehensive list on the tips thread, which I'll dig up...). It saves you a good deal of lot-placement woes too.

EDIT: Cathyknits' post on mixology was the best one I could find. You actually can't buy a junkyard, but placing bars at other properties (fishing holes, parks, etc.) would probably make up the difference.

Thanks.  Guess I thought you could only get the specialty drinks specificly from the bars/lounges. Now I certinly know better.  Though part of me still wants to actually have the bars themselves for going to.

Well, you can add a bar. Isn't the Watering Hole from Appaloosa Plains a Dive Bar? And if you bought one that was slightly off for Sunset Valley, you could purchase and change it a bit to fit in, right?

Are Gambling and Archery (and Violin) off limits for skill supermaxes for the dynasty challenges as well as for the challenges leading to the world rating, or just for the challenges leading to the world rating?

Also, I know that Gambling came courtesy of Lucky Palms, but where do Archery (and Violin) come from?

Sorry Ricalynn, I wanted to know if it was allowed in any of the challenges and so posted it in all three dynasty challenges.

I thought that posting questions in this thread about the other dynasty challenges or any other topics, was frowned upon here, but I'll know better in the future.

It's that you asked the same question in the same exact format for each dynasty.   A PM would have been cleaner and I wouldn't need to answer three times type thing.    We never talk about what will or will not be a supermax until it is an actual live skill.  True for worlds and expansions.

You didn't do anything majorly wrong.  I was just letting you know. 

Plus supermaxes are one of those things that are true for all dynasties.  It's the rules that are different.
