Help please.

One of my Sims in the Victor family (Hugh Jack Victor) to be precise has disappeared. :( I can still see his action underway (in this case he is making a sculpture out of wood - which he has done previously, no problems) I can still see the green diamond floating around above where his head should be, and I can still see the user interface panel across the bottom of the screen for him, I just can't see Hugh, and that makes me rather disappointed and sad.  :'(

I haven't traveled, well considering Gen 2 is just now teenager, I can't travel yet in this dynasty. I've tried resetsim on him (which was suggested in a thread on this issue which people seemed to be suffering from about 2 years ago, but that hasn't had an effect on it.

I have got some previous saved games of the file. This one was saved this morning before I went to work.

Please help.

EDIT: I think I solved the problem! ;D I sent him to a dresser and changed him to his everyday clothes and he reappeared. Then I tried returning him to his chef's uniform (he's now an executive chef) and he can still be seen once more. ;D

I had this problem in my challenge file earlier today - what also worked for me was to have another Sim interact with invisiSim - they come right back. Just thought I'd throw that out there as a potential fix, because one of my babies disappeared, and the dresser isn't an option for that :)

Unexpected side effect of fixing my boarding school issue: I've now lost my Pangu's Axe. :( Is there any way for me to get that back within the rules, or am I stuck with all of the boulders in France and Egypt unsmashed? It's not a gamebreaker, if so; I just like to adventure.

I don't think there is a way to do it within the rules.  Sorry.

Question: is there any rules banning rich non immortals moving into the household during generation 1?  Because there are rules banning rich sims in pinsters legacy challenge, and I see no mention of it in the rules on the fist page.

This is not a legacy.  This is not based on a legacy.  This doesn't really compare with a legacy.

The rules are the front page are pretty much the rules for the challenge.   If it's not forbidden then it's allowed.    Always double check things though.

Not only is it not banned, it is a very common tactic that is specifically suggested in the thread of advice/hints for the Immortal Dynasty (http://www.carls-sims-3-guide.com/forum/index.php/topic,12247.0.html).

Happy update for this one: Pangu's Axe turned up in family inventory, so not all is lost. I found a side note on some Q&A post somewhere that moving or splitting household may reset it to family inventory, and lo and behold, there it was. Just thought I'd post in case anyone else has that problem.

Are we allowed to use the cure elixirs to turn a supernatural into a human or a witch before moving them in?

It was OK'd to turn a supernatural into a human before marriage, so I assume so.

You're allowed to cure a supernatural before they move in. And you can make one a witch; however, you're not allowed to use the vampire, werewolf, genie, simbot, fairy ones that are outlined in the rules.

That's what I thought, just checking to make sure I wasn't getting it mixed up, thanks. :)

That feeling when you get the crash-after-building bug for the first time. I don't want to restart my file (I refined my methods and ended up with six deathfish, a Motive Mobile, tiberium, and the Ice Personality challenge done in nine days), and I definitely don't want to restart and live without rain in Twinbrook just so I can build on a foundation.

Thank goodness I had the foresight to save right before building.

Is there an easy way to find out which parts of the lot are affected? Or is it just trial-and-error?

Just trial and error from what I can tell.   And memory if you can think of any part of the yard that had rain puddles.

This might not be for everybody - but when you do start building - if you can hold off for a little bit till you have the funds to build two storeys right away and then start furnishing, it might work. Money was really tight for a bit after that, but it meant I now have two storeys (and unlimited basement(s)) of course, to play with now... I originally walled off a huge section of the first floor and only played with a tiny house, opening it up as funds came in. I haven't played a dynasty yet, but depending on your starting gameplay that may be an option.
