I was already reading that thread and that's what I was just thinking myself.  So if you want to split the household and get her back - I'm fine with that but you may not be able to send her like you wanted.

Splitting the household and merging it back together successfully pulled her out of boarding school, and her mother once again had the option to re-enroll her. We'll see if it actually works on Tuesday, though it's really not leaving much time in her childhood to actually attend boarding school. ::)

Edit: And she's finally off to boarding school, with 2 days remaining till her teen birthday!

My 6th generation decided to go and have twins >:( is this the end of my dynasty or am I allowed to go back and see if she has a single birth? Unfortunately the firstborn was a girl so no elder babies once the twin dies.

Just a tip if anyone runs into this again.

I give my founder the "Surrounded by Family" LTW. I've had a couple of dynasties dashed because of twins or triplets at unfortunate times.

On my current version I adopted an elder cat during the last pregnancy to assure a single child. Since the household limit for people + pets is 10, an extra dog or cat can prevent the unfortunate twin. I'm disappointed I didn't think of it before. It works out well because pets can keep each others social bars up. And if they are elders, they won't be around that long.

It's kind of sad in a way, but better than dying at the shelter, I'd think.

Why do you give your founder Surrounded by Family? It is of course your choice, but it seems unnecessarily difficult.

I enjoy the challenge.

When I first bought the game it was fun. But I remember one night having the family on vacation and I realized my elementary school kid had just about maxed out painting. At that point I decided the game was too easy and shelved it for a long time.

Most of the time I play MMORPGs (like World of Warcraft). But inevitably they do something to irritate me and I quit. The tomb raiding in WA is a nice substitute.

One time when I came back, I started reading about this challenge. It reinvigorated the game for me. If it weren't for Metro and all the people who work on this, I would have kicked this game to the curb a long time ago. Given what I've spent on expansions and the EA store, I'm sure that EA thanks you.

I have failed more times than I can count, but that's what keeps me coming back. My current attempt looks very promising. But I try to keep the degree of difficulty high so it doesn't get boring. I thought about making a post called "There Must Be 50 Ways to Doom Your Dynasty" a la the old Paul Simon song, but I couldn't figure out where to put it.

At any rate, I almost hope I never finish it because then what will I do?

Do it again with additional self-imposed restrictions of course.

I think you should do that post! But I don't know where you would put it either.

My second Immortal is now two days from elderly age, and in his whole life he has got just 3 or 4 opportunities, only two of them were executable (I don't do fame quests, but overall it's still way too few). I blame the Seasons patch which was installed when he was just YA. Every day he gets a couple of romantic date calls, and it is my suspicion these calls are "consuming" useful ones. I didn't notice it in time, and now I am worried :(
Any advice?

What's his career? Some careers don't offer than many ops, so if you've already reached the top of his current career, it might be helpful to place him in a non-combined rabbithole career. Or perhaps learn a skill that isn't going to be a future supermax.

He's top Culinar, works in a combined rabbithole. I wonder, will he lose his boss and coworkers if he switch his workplace to another culinary RH? Worth trying a shot, anyway. Also, he now learns to play Bass. :)
Thank you, Trip! :)

He'll get a different boss and coworkers, but he won't lose the relationships he had with the old ones. Also, if the rabbit hole is "combined" he won't get the career opportunities. (But I don't think dates are "consuming" phone calls - I had that worry myself.)

Learning Bass might be your best bet.

Showtime's non-combined coffeehouse will help me with that, I hope. His (mortal) father was working there, and got a plenty of opps. I just didn't figure out back then that combined RH could be what causes the problem.
Thanks!

As far as I know it's okay as far as the rules but may not actually be possible to do. For some reason I don't think you can put harvested produce in the family inventory.

I've usually left them on the floor of a locked room, or just passed them out to my immortals as they grow.

If you have supernatural, you can put them in the alchemy cabinet. You can also store ambrosia safely in there without it going bad ;)

In my experience, the boss and co-workers do not change when transferring jobs to a different location, but I could be wrong.
