Thanks, Metro! I'm glad to know I don't have to start over. I'll keep Bonehilda locked up except when she's needed from here on out, just in case she was the problem.

I've previously discovered that Bonehilda can't get through locked doors that are set to household members only. I've also discovered that the secret doorway through the bookcase also stops her accessing an area.

Another question, it has no bearing on my current game, but with town setup at the beginning, when you can edit town to place EA lots, are you also able to place families?

No families can be placed except your founder.

Esther is correct.  You cannot add any Sims to the towns other than the founder you create in Create-A-Sim at the start of the game.

Okay, it looks like one of my mortal housemates gained a day in his lifespan.

Peter queued up the action to have his teen birthday around 9 or 10 PM. The camera panned to him, I got the message that he was celebrating his birthday, and then I quickly focused on Journeyman off-lot just because I don't need to watch a housemate age up.

Then at 4AM, I noticed that he didn't age up. No pop-up for me to pick a trait or that the game picked one for him, thumbnail in the portrait panel is still him as a child, and then I focused on Peter and he's still a child. His age bar says that he has zero days left as a child. He pretty much dropped the whole aging up action and instead asked one of the ghosts for a bedtime story.

This isn't dynasty-ending, is it? I thought he'd just age up without the camera focused on him or the home lot. ;____;

He may have been stopped out of it by one of the ghosts.  Age him up immediately with a cake from buy mode.

Update, again thanks all of you're help, I have officially supermaxed Writing with my founder yay! What stinks is the decision to do the writing career with it, since the royalties don't go toward the earnings, but he's level 7 still has two days before he ages up maybe a couple more romance novels and a masterpiece (since that's when he'll be able to access it) will get him to the top.

Will do. I read that insane sims aren't supposed to be affected by ghosts, as well as brave sims, and he's both of those. And he was in a part of the house that the ghosts never seem to frequent. Oh well.

Brave sims usually aren't effected but trust me when I say insane sims are.  It may vary sometimes but they have to do the face and hand gesture at least once per time that a ghost appears.

Kind of a clarification question on the rule for Best Friends. Do "old friends" qualify as best friends if their bar is at the same point as a best friend? Or do you have to find a way to get the status back to best friends? My roommate has been a best friend from the beginning, they hang out everyday and their friend bars are maxed, but it still says old friend.

As long as the bar is where it is supposed to be for a Best Friend than it still counts.  Just means that the other Sim has known yours for a long time.

Okay, sorry for all of the questions, but my founder just became an elder, so I am tying up all the loose ends that haven't been met. Now with the best friends, they can be household members, including spouses. Does that also include other immortals? For example, my founder is best friends with his roommate, his spouse, and his son (2nd Generation Immortal) in the household. Would I be able to consider all three as his Best Friends? Also, from how I am interpreting the rule, that means with the founder using his wife as his best friend, that would keep the son from using her as his best friend, which is fine. I just wanted to see mainly if I could use another immortal as a best friend, if that immortal was the only one to do so?

Yes all three could be his Best Friend if he has enough relationship with them.   Gen 2 could even count his father if he wanted but no other immortal will be able to count Gen 2 or Gen 1.  And yes if Gen 1 uses his spouse than Gen 2 can't.

Which is just as well, because it's not likely that Gen 1's spouse is going to be around when her son is an Elder trying to qualify for Ambrosia.

Just popping in to say that generation three has completed his lifetime wish of Visionary...as a child. Aw yeah.

His poor mum is still trying to complete hers. I think she will, but it must feel odd to be beat by your child in that regard.
