I find that cooking the favorite meals of anyone living in the household is a good goal for a cooking supermax. Last attempt, I had housemates that liked goopy carbonara, sushi, and dim sum. It represented a good range of skill levels needed to cook them, and supermaxing cooking was easy with those tiny goals.

World Adventures players have the option of purchasing WA lots and having those count towards the 2-property requirement.

Are these Vacation Homes, or lots like the Nectary?

That's a brilliant way to do it!

Mine? Thanks!

Vacation homes are neither rabbit holes or upgradable through the real estate system so that leaves nectary and academy.

I began panicking earlier over a few things.
  • my photographs all went blank.
  • my ice sculptures all went down to discs.
  • Cycl0n3 Sw0rd was going through the motions of drinking coffee ... for like 2 sim hours or more, drinking but then returning and starting the animation again.
I saved, left the game and returned and the photographs and ice sculptures returned to normal. But Cycl0n3 was still going through the motions of drinking coffee. So I did a resetsim on Cycl0n3. That fixed him up. I was so relieved. Oh and in related news ...

I hate supermaxing guitar. I hated playing guitar in real life, and my hatred for it is growing. :)

Yes, indeed.  Guitar is a very difficult skill to SuperMax.  None of us recommend it for a Dynasty, much less for a founder.

Thank you, thank you, Ricalynn.  Your advice I think has saved this challenge as I was seriously beginning to despair of ever getting those competitions done.  Your tips turned it right around, and I socked away jumping and cross country internationals with 3 days of competition attempts.  Advanced comps are cake for a unicorn, so I am back on track to getting Riding supermaxxed.  And the reward statue is *impressive*.  I'm not fitting it into the museum unless I make an outdoors section!

ok then. I've got an issue with the consignment store registers, initially with both the elixir store register and the general consignment store register, but now just with the elixir store register.

It is the issue with the registers or the register operator not opening up the buy/consign screens when you click on them. As I own the Consignment Store (the Landgraab's one) I went in there, deleted its consignment register and added in a fresh one. That fixed up the problem with that register. I also put an elixir consignment register in there on a spare bench. I click on the register/operator and select buy. It remains in the sim's queue for a few seconds and then drops out. I have saved the game, exited and returned to the game, but the elixir store register in both the elixir consignment store and the general consignment store have that issue.

What else should I try to do?

Okay, admittedly I am no pro when it comes to bug fixing and these register problems, but the first thing that pops in my head is are you sure you should be having 2 different registers in the same store? I have no idea if that is an issue or not.

Dek - Do you have anything up for consignment? I would cancel all elixir store and normal consignment store consignments for everyone in the house.  You may have the bug where one never got returned that should have been.  Make sure to do it for every member of the household because it counts for the entire family even if it's just uncle albert.

I took the idea from Union Cove where they put the food register and the book register as well as the consignment store register in the 'open air market' which I believe was included as the consignment store.

I have removed the extra registers from the consignment store, now. The elixir consignment store has only ever had the one register in it.

I have just tried to use the buy interaction in the elixir consignment store with a different sim. Still no luck. It remains in the queue for that sim for a few seconds and then disappears

How do I do that?

Edit: I worked it out. :) I investigated and cancelled all consignments. There was one there for gem dust that was at -3 days. I cancelled it, and I can now buy from there again. Thanks Ricalynn.

Cooking is my Founder's SuperMax. When she was getting those challenges to cook 50 and 75 meals, I'd have her spam making Sushi. She has a supply of about 50 in the fridge, among other foods, so when it's time to feed (as in, most household members are hungry), I'll pull out around 4 Sushi and serve it up. It helps that she only did Sushi - her Sushi is almost always Perfect Quality. My basic setup is that there's a locked door, behind which is the kitchen. There are only three walls, the fourth is left open and has counters and barstools for Sims to sit. I also have a formal Dining Room, in case of overflow. All in all, I can probably sit 12 people in there (6 at the counter, 6 at the Table), and my Founder can be cooking everyone something nice to eat.

Edit: Oh, and of course - the fact that the fridge is in the same room as the general Lounge area means that everyone gets the buff from it (I have the Level 10 Culinary One) when passing through, which is very important.

This is just genius. I'm so going to steal this!

I have a question about the Vizard of Vine challenge. I've now made nectar from over 700 home grown grapes (all of them french kinds since I read on some thread that it could hep), but it's still not registering as complete. Can I count it as done?

I'll keep going and try longer, I still have time, but I just want to have all my bases covered.

Have you travelled at all since you started making nectar? I believe travelling resets the counter regardless of what sims are going on the trip, if not probably a bug.
