I agree with Shirin.
My museum starts as just a wall with the paintings on it. Just like my house is only a wall with a toilet on one side and a sink on the other :D
I even think you can start the museum on your lot and move it to a community lot that you own later. Correct me if I am wrong.

yeah, I kind of figured the same.... I can afford a basement museum atm and have the founder's YA portrait in place before age-up but I'd like the actual museum to be above ground eventually and I'm sure at the very least I'd want to remodel.  That's kind of where I was in the question.  I'd prefer to keep the paintings on their easel in basement storage until I build upwards.  But if the ruling is for on the wall of "the museum" then I guess I'll try to figure out something to do in the basement for it.

Not at all. This is a bug out of your control. Just keep playing as if it never happened.

Thanks Metro. I should have figured with a name like EvilDemon that it'd do something.

No, museum pieces do not need to be on a wall. Easels are fine as well. They simply need to be added before the next life stage happens.

Ooo, I didn't think easels were ok. You've given me a grand idea for my museum now!

However, they do need to be completed prior to birthdays, correct? Like, I couldn't have the painter start a toddler painting, and then complete it after the subject ages up to child. (And if we choose to use optional sculptures, are they also bound by that?)

All museum pieces must be completed before the subject ages up, failing to finish the portrait before the subject ages up results in the failure of the Dynasty. Sculptures won't end your Dynasty but can't be counted if they were not finished before the birthday.

Perfect, thank you for the clarification.

As long as you don't use mods during the official part of the Dynasty, you can do whatever you want once you've got that 8th immortal.

Hi, are we allowed to age up an adopted son a few days earlier?

Birthday cakes can only be used on a Sim's actual birthday.

So no.

I knew it isn't allowed to let non-immortal sims live longer, but wasn't sure about aging up and just couldn't find it. So thanks for pointing that out.
Too bad though :(

I've just realized that I may have misinterpreted a rule regarding pets, and so I would like some clarification.  Can we put pets up for adoption, or do they have to stay in the household living their full life, just like sims do?  I was under the impression it was ok to adopt them out because it's ok to sell horses, and Metro has said in a few places that pets are different than sims...but after Nicky's recent questions I'm not so sure anymore.
