Thank you, Sportsfan, for clearing these points for me. I was especially worried by the two first questions, so it's nice to know that I can continue according to plan. :)

Are we allowed to use Unlockobjects on? For hairstyles?

All allowed cheats are already specified in the rules. If the cheat is not mentioned, you can't use it.

The portraits my sims paint are rather dark is there a way to brighten them up?

No. Just when they are posing do it in a bright light.

The big trick is to make sure the subject is lit more brightly than the background. Kind of helpful: there's a ceiling light that's a mini-spotlight. When the subject gets to the spot where they're going to stand, I'll go to Buy mode and point one of those spotlights at them. Also painting portraits outdoors in the middle of the day can help with getting them lit well.

  • 5. Purchase 3 Lifetime Rewards not purchased by other immortals. Immortals can have more than 3 Lifetime Rewards, but 3 have to be unique. Also, more than one of a unique Lifetime Reward can be purchased for other immortals as long as the reward is not a unique reward for other immortals.
Metro, I think the wording of this rule is a bit strange.
I read the last sentence as this:
"I can purchase a LTR for Generation One and claim it as their unique LTR. I can then buy the same LTR for Generation Two and not claim it as their LTR"
Is this what you mean? Because if so, the LTR wouldn't be unique to Generation One.

This is what I think  it means, though I may be wrong.

Generation 1 buys the Collection Helper, for example.
Generation 1 can buy a second Collection Helper, and place it in Generation 2's inventory, but Generation 2 cannot buy their own Collection Helper, because if they did it would not be unique to Generation 1 any more.

Fortheloveofcake, I agree with that. Seabody, What I got from the rules is you can buy more than 3 for each Immortal, but 3 have to be ones that no other Immortals have. Like with mine, Observant and Long-Distance Friends is ones that each person have, but with my founder, he has Super Green Thumb, Suave Seller and No Bills Ever, which means none of the rest of the Immortals will ever be allowed to buy those three. I hope that's right anyways!

I don't think it needs any changing.

If generation two buys the same LTR as generation one, it's no longer unique and can't be counted.  I believe that's precisely what the rule says.  Esther and fortheloveofcake are correct with their examples.

I'm sorry if this has been asked already, but I read somewhere a while ago that the only lots we are allowed to add to a games are the ea ones that come with the expansion packs. But since I don't like the LN buildings in Riverview can I add some of the hangouts from other Towns like the watering hole saloon from AP or the Shoreline cabin from hidden springs and change the lot type to something else?

I think they have to have been placed by EA into the Edit Town Library already so the AP or the HS one wouldn't be allowed, unless you were playing there of course.

There goes that idea. Let's say I have one of my immortals buy all the rave warehouse, can I change the lot type from hangout to dance club when I do the upgrades?

I don't understand -- the Watering Hole Saloon is in the lot library; it seems to me you should be able to place it in Riverview as a dive bar.
