I suppose I just always assumed that the moodlet manager and motive mobile were allowed because they are LTR that a player has to earn in game. The moodlet manager is available in the base game so is something that all players can use. Therefore nobody would have an unfair advantage.

Of course for the amount of time that you have a baby or toddler in game it wouldn't make that much difference. You would probably spend more time having to get a babies needs out of the yellow when all your immortals start messing with the baby swing.

I just wanted it clarifying one way or the other so that is all official.

I don't see a problem with the new baby swing.  All it does is help with the baby's moods.  It doesn't do anything with aging and that's the main thing in this challenge.

Exactly.  Also, it's not like child trait selection is affected by nooboo or toddler moods - it is all based on learning all the toddler skills.

Where the swing could offer an advantage is in reducing the amount of time we have to spend on child care - thus freeing the time up to continue working on skills, careers, and the like.  It's not an issue once you have a house full of adults to share the childcare responsibilities but it might make a difference in the first generation.

I've played with it a bit in another game file I have going and honestly it seems to be a wash.  You don't have to spend as much time taking care of the nooboo, but left to their own devices Sims seem to turn it on high and make the baby nauseous.  Then you have to calm the nooboo down, so it may not really be much of a time saver.

Metro, just so we all know is the new baby swing thing from the store allowed in the immortal and decadynasties. I would assume no but wanted to make sure.

Rachel

No, it's allowed. And I'm not banning it for next year's challenges either. Parenting just got a lot easier! Lol.

Lol it's only easier though if you have complete control over your sims and they don't mess it up. If they do parenting gets harder.

I think the former butler of my dynasty has found out the secret of immortality. He was fired by the spouse of my founder before gen 3 was a child, but he still alive and kicking at week 36 day 2. I really want to know how he does it!

The game tends to forget to age up NPCs. Invite him over a few times - he'll age up to elder and die at a party for you.

That is exactly what I was going to say.Hebe had best friend in generation one and he finally died when generation eight was a baby. It was funny because I had him picked out as a potential spouse for Bronte who was Hebes daughter.

Do both parents have to live on the Immortal lot?  Or can a female be a single parent?

All allowed cheats are already in the ruleset.
