It can definitely be done - it just takes patience! Your sims are going to spend a game week or three with cheap appliances and a creaky bed and fewer walls than you might like... but you're in this for the long haul. (And you can add roomies in addition to the spouse, keep in mind.)

Yes, Christopher Steel worked fine as my Dynasty spouse.  It made for an interesting story, too, because they literally lived in a one room house at the beginning.

With Generations, it can pay off more to have a spouse with lots of friends. When sims marry, you get wedding gifts from friends of the happy couple, and those gifts can be anything from buy mode. I've even gotten the giant plane statue from the military base as a wedding gift before.

Yea, they got that digital fish tank thing as a wedding present, along with a football, lol.  It's working out fine, even though I lost an entire day's worth of play due to power outage (yay snow), and they had their first nooboo last night.

Is it okay for a dynasty family to adopt a unicorn as a pet?

I believe it's already been ruled that pets are fine.  The fact that it's a unicorn shouldn't make a difference, unless a unicorn can do magical things that will cause your Sim to get younger or not age properly.  (Sorry if this has already been addressed.  I don't recall seeing it.)

All I remember is that Unicorns can cast spells, like creating and destroying fires, as well as teleportation.

I don't recall seeing unicorns addressed either, so I thought I would ask.  I've not seen anything either in game or on this or the official EA forums that unicorns in any way affect Sim aging.

I had to put up a keep away wildlife gnome sign because a unicorn kept on eating all my plants in the garden. I guess an adopted wild horse or unicorn would eat its own food and leave the garden produce alone.

Unicorns are allowed Simlishlol asked in an earlier post.

So i decided i'd start a new dynasty, using horses as my main income. This has probably been asked before, but are you aloud to adopt unicorns?

Correct.

Yes. They have some magical powers such as the gardening blessing, but nothing that would give a player a huge advantage such as life extension, etc.
I only live in real life when my sims need a break ;)

From my experience if a horse is left to his own devices, it will go for the produce.  You almost have to put a fence and a gate around your plants to lock them out.

If the Motive Mobile and Moodlet Manager are allowed, I can't imagine why the baby swing wouldn't be.
