also, I was hoping you could clarify about the unique skills. is a skill unique when it's supermaxed, such that an immortal can claim cooking as his or her unique skill if it's supermaxed but other immortals simply have it normal maxed?

Put it this way:
If it is SuperMaxed, other immortals cannot max it, OR SuperMax it. They can get to Level 9, but that is it.

Thank you, that covers all my important questions. The rest I can deal with when it comes.

Welcome to our Forum, Jurk0wski.

I read through your list of questions and was prepared to give answers, but it looks like others beat me to it.  Did you get everything you needed answered satisfactorily?

Also, you used some abbreviations in your posts, such as SSs and TLDR.  We ask that members not use abbreviations because not everyone on the forum will know what they mean.  I, personally, don't know the meaning of either of the two I just mentioned.

Lastly, you missed some capitalization in your posts and I'm going to edit them to make corrections.  I hope you don't mind. And if you would watch those in future posts, I'd really appreciate it.

Edit:  Thank you for editing out the name of the mod.  It's correct that we don't allow discussions of specific mods or links to them.

This I need to ask. I DESPISE traveling. I hate it with a passion due to all the bugs it causes. so, my question is simply this: can I use buydebug solely to buy nectar machines? I don't need them, but they're nice to have, and I'd really rather not risk traveling to get them. (I can get the books and such from the consignment store if I look enough, not sure about the machines). If I cannot, I revert to my previous question about saves. Can I backup my town before traveling, travel, buy what I need, leave, and check to see if it's corrupted, and if it is, revert?

I didn't see this question addressed.  No, you may not use Buydebug for nectar machines.  You'll have to travel to get them or do without.  It's always a good idea to save your game before traveling.  If you travel and get a game-breaking bug, yes, you can revert to a previous save.  If it's a genuine technical breakdown, it's fine to revert.  You may want to leave a note here for Metro just to let him know what you did.

@Pam:
SSs - Selective Service System
TLDR - Too long, Didn't read
EDIT: Oh, and "LP" is "Let's Play".

Hope this helps.

Close, the last s was to pluralize it, it was for Screen Shot. Sorry for the missed capitals too, thought I got them all. I'll be editing the post for the abbreviations then.

Thank you though, I do believe that covers all of the questions I had.

Do these include events around town such as the olympics and the eating contest? And by unique ops, are they done by the title of the op, not by what you need to do? I'm fairly certain there are ops out there that have you do the same things just with different titles.

Yes, events around town like the Olympics, Eating Contest, and Cook Off may be used as BlackOps.  There are some opportunities out there that are very similar, but one little thing will normally be different.  So, as long as it has a unique title, it's fine for a BlackOps.

OK, trying to be more clear, if a skill is used as a supermax for an immortal, it can not be a skill that any other immrotal gets 10 ranks in.

Pam, thank you for offering to help on the FAQ thing. I'll need to see it and sign off on it before anything is stickied.

Metro, I'm not planning to make a Dynasty, but I do have a concern with your ruleset. Why do players need to be patched up to the latest patch when patches can bring so many problems to games that were perfectly stable before? Also I noticed an inconsistency, you do not mention whether Generation's Young Again potions are out right banned or if an immortal is allowed to have them once they have had Ambrosia for the first time.

It's important when you're talking about setting something up as a challenge for players that everyone try and play under the same conditions. Patches change gameplay. I understand where you're coming from, but you need to make the effort to play under the current patch. Allowances may be made if problems occur for you.

Also I noticed an inconsistency, you fail to mention Generation's Young Again potions, whether they are out right banned or if an immortal is allowed to have them once they have had Ambrosia for the first time.

Nope. I cover it....you just missed it. ;)

  • Generation's potions and rewards that reverse or freeze age are not allowed.

Metro did mention the limited usage of Young Again/Age Freeze potions. See this:

Quote
Generation's potions and rewards that reverse or freeze age are not allowed.

And as Juxt said in one of the above posts,

Quote
No vamps or age freezing, since continuing doses of Ambrosia is part of the challenge.

EDIT: Whoops, same time. :)
Well, that's your opinion, isn't it? And I'm not about to waste my time trying to change it. - Lady GaGa

Okay, thank you I understand now! To be fair, it is a very long list of rules, so it isn't surprising I missed that after a billion reads over! ;)

You'd think so, but not even by half from what I've read, and I'm not even half way through. I've sent my compilation of Q and As to Pam, with more to come. Right now it's 12:30am-ish and I really should have been in bed hours ago. I'll cover the rest in the morning - if someone hasn't done the rest by then :)
