Guys , I just bought a camera from consignment shop , but when I use it my sim just stucks and I need to reset him to come "back to life".
Someone had the same issue before?

Maybe I should try to learn the photography skill first? ( No skill book yet since I can't travel in generation 1 )

Any help much appreciated :D

Ok.  I don't know what's going on but my entire town keeps going to the beach and just hanging out there.  I was in the middle of a birthday party when all but one guest disappeared.  I went looking and they are once again at Old Pier Beach with everyone else.  No one is going home, work, school or anything else.  Even my maid got sent from my house to the beach and then asked for money!

Can I use the blank resetSim?

Ricalynn — that's fine if you want to try the reset cheat.

I did a resetSim * and they all went home but after my sims slept everyone in town is back at the beach.  I could resetSim every Sim but if the blanket one didn't work then I don't see the individual ones working either.

What should I do?

Also my imaginary friends are showing as children across the street from the house like stalkers.  My poor dynasty.  I don't think this is going to be an issue though.  Just a weird glitch to go with the rest of them.

Thanx , I think I will stay away from photography then to avoid any major bugs which could possibly ruin my game . Cheers!

Yeah, I honestly do not know what to tell you. As long as you can accomplish what needs to be accomplished, then it's a question of ignoring the annoyances and pressing on.

Alright I have a question about the infamous SuperMax skill. I understand that each one is to be unique to each immortal and that no two immortals may have the same skill maxed out. What I'm not clear about is whether any mortal is allowed to max that skill out. For example I married with Agnes like many of you and she has been painting my portraits and she is about to max out painting. The problem with that is my founder is a sculptor and has Da Vinci's LTW. So I have to max out three skills. Does that then mean that none of mortals can max out these skills as well? I'd assume so but just checking cause I think I might have to start over if so.

Mortals are not tied to the same restrictions that immortals have. With the exception of the few global restrictions in this event, you're free to do what you want with mortals.

Ricalynn, that sounds like a problem a lot of people reported in Bridgeport, where people would just keep dropping whatever they were doing to go stand around the lot at one of the bars. I remember someone said they bulldozed the bar, and the people would go back to stand on the empty lot. Resetsim * resulted in what you reported - everyone went home, and then came right back.

I hate to say this, but I don't remember if a cure was ever found - you might find something if you search the forum, though.

The problem does appear to be the same bug that everyone else was having in Bridgeport.  There is nothing I can do to send them home so my dynasty bought the property, put in some lounge chairs, bathrooms and a bar for food and hopefully I won't lose the entire town to starvation.   I'm hoping that eventually the game realizes something is wrong and fixes it for Story Progression.  However, I won't have to go looking far for spouses later on.  They're all going to be at the beach!  Sidenote: no one is having babies at the beach so this could be bad, too.  I won't know until I play it out.

Has the founder returned to Sunset Valley yet?  If not, check his contacts when he gets back home and see if they've come back.  Contact panels can get messed up while on vacation, but generally return to normal when your Sim goes back home.
I would definitely try this if I could get my founder home. He is stuck in China. Even after the time expired for the trip he did not leave. Every  time I try to call to Return home he doesn't go. The action cancels. On top of this every time I try to do an introduction the action cancels and the computer moves him. When he goes to play chess if he invites someone to play the action cancels and the computer moves him. It's like the computer doesn't want him to interact with anyone. He's Destined to walk the land of China and never talk to anyone ever. Sort of like Kane.

Thank You! Very helpful. I went ahead and started over again and was happier with the second try (I didn't get far) but I had a son just now and forgot to paint a portrait as a baby and now I'm going to have to start over again. LoL. Oh well. Thanks again. I'm sure I'll have another question or two before this things is over.

@bakey
Excuse my ignorance, but by "baby", do you mean you didn't get a portrait as a toddler or as a baby in the cute snuggly blanket?

You can close the game and start with a previous save, if you want.  You've got numerous technical difficulties that aren't your fault.
