When you say "All sims born in the dynasty house must result from a natural pregnancy of sims living in the dynasty house", does that mean that a female heir cannot give birth unless the father is living in the house or she is Generation 7?

Correct.

Metro, can female non-heirs have kids from a father not in the Household?

Also I just had a bug in my Dynasty where I took photos and they didn't show up in the storage window thing, all 10 of them. Previous ones are gone as well but the value remains? I just installed Generations so could that be it?

Generations has messed up the Photography skill for some. Check the "A Photography Challenge!? Oh Snap!" thread for more.

Nope. The rule quoted above covers heirs and non-heirs.

Hmmm, that's good that I checked as I was going to do that for my Spare... I'm sure I'll work something out, maybe I'll just move in some guy that won't have long to live.

Metro, not to be a pain, but I asked this same question in a PM several weeks ago and you responded the opposite way. I am very confused now.

Edit: Well, OK, not exactly the same. My question concerned sims outside the Immortal family (so housemates and children of housemates). I asked, since they can adopt, if they could also get pregnant from a sim not living in the household. You responded that that scenario was fine. Is there such a big difference between "spares" and other non-Immortals? If that is so, then does that also mean that "spares" can't adopt?

The rule states all offspring must result from natural pregnancies (not adoptions) from Sims living in the Dynasty house. The rule has never differentiated between immortals and non immortals. If I've stated in the past that this only applies to immortals, then whoever I've told that to can carry on with that ruling. It was my own fault. But, go to the rules and read that rule carefully.

I am in the same boat as Phyre - it was mentioned a few weeks back that it was okay for non-immortals to have children, even adopt, as the rules of immortality did not apply to them. So in my dynasty, Agnes had a child while Chris was still living in his house.

But as you've said to keep going if you told us that the rules work that way, I'm assuming it's okay to go on (seeing as Agnes and Chris are long dead in my dynasty now), isn't it?

Me too - In my unofficial dynasty, Agnes has adopted. (I try to stick to the rules, I just grant myself a bit of lee-way)

metro, you said that other peole adopting or having children
was fine as it only made the challenge harder. You seemed surprised that anyone would want to add to the
family in this way but you did OK it

What about children who's father is a ghost? I told you my plan back then and you said it is ok. Now, is it ok for Agnes to get pregnant from Erik Darling's ghost?
Well, that's your opinion, isn't it? And I'm not about to waste my time trying to change it. - Lady GaGa

This was actually just discussed earlier today. :) It would appear that other players have already interpreted that rule to mean immortal blood line only. So, adoption is fine for other non immortal Sims.

What Ratchie is referring to was said on Page 233.

I don't mean to contradict your rules Metro; this is your challenge, so your rulebook, with a very big period at the end of that. However, following the quoted statement, as well as your reply to my PM OK'ing sims not related to the Immortal bloodline to adopt or conceive without both sims living in the house (which I can quote if you want, just let me know), I went ahead and planned the first portion of my Dynasty. To see that all go up in smoke if I choose to go for HoF (i.e. following every rule to the letter), is more than a little disappointing. Which I don't blame on you at all, it's just a sticky situation where some choices will have to be made.

Different applications of this rule to Immortals/non-Immortals have occured in many Dynasties for a while now. Especially considering that how you are currently explaining the rule, non-Immortal male sims can't have children with female sims not living in the house either.

Yeah that's also what gave me the impression of Non-Heirs were able to have Kids from Outside the Household. I'm going to be Household Juggling because of this. I have Six in my Household Currently, soon that will be Five, my Gen 3 will get married and have the next heir, that will be Seven and then I wanted Gen 3's Twin Sister to have a Child which will bring me back to 8 Sims, I've worked it out to work and I have the safety net of Gen 4 being a Male and able to Reproduce as an Elder.
