As per the rules, gen 7 is the exception - the 7th gen must be a female, and have a child (the 8th gen) out of wedlock. This means gen 7's non-immortal parent (gen 6's spouse/partner) must die to make room for gen 8.

Thanks smarburn!

I thought the rules said that, but I was catching up forum post here and I saw it mentioned so I got confused. Thanks.

Hi,

I finally went to the letterbox after Gen 2 got married, and one of the items was a 'tree of prosperity'. While I'm very curious to know how the postman managed to fit it in there (and keep it alive) I'm more curious to confirm whether or not it can be used. I had it in my head that it was banned, but looking at the first post in the thread, it doesn't seem to be. Before I place it and use it, can its status of being used or not be confirmed for me?

Thank you

The Tree of Prosperity is allowed. For dynasty challenges, pretty much every piece of premium content is unless it's explicitly stated to be banned.

It's not banned, but I'm pretty sure one of Rica's dynasties failed because it corrupted the file.

Has the dancing flower thing corrupted people's file? I only ask, because it creates a whole bunch of missing objects in the same place.

Also is the Magic Mirror banned?

I've heard of the missing objects problem with the Sunflower, but I'm not sure whether it leads to outright file corruption or not. What I do know is that the missing object blocks are utterly annoying. I tried searching on the official forums to see if there was a fix, and the missing objects can be deleted using testingcheats, but that also involves the explicit permission from one of the Team to implement, and they respawn anyways. In the mean time, try uninstalling anything from the Greenhouse set that you might have, clearing caches and DCBackup, and redownloading it and see if that helps.

The Magic Mirror is fine to use, though.

The rules say you can get a Simbot from the LTR but I don't think you get the option to release them into the wild like you do when an inventor makes them. So do you just choose "move out" and kick them out?

Yes, you move them out - whether you buy a home for them or kick them out and let them fend for themselves, though, is entirely up to you. Just make sure it's done promptly.

Gotta love it when deaths come in threes.

First of all, one of the dogs dies of old age

A couple of days later, Agnes dies of old age

Then Christopher Steel (with handiness skill at level 5, 6 or 7) electrocuted himself while trying to upgrade a stove.

So I've got plenty of space in my household for once, even with Generation 3 just having been born subsequent to Christopher's death.

EDIT: I think I know what happened with regards to Chris. he didn't have handiness. I thought he had it. Oh well.

Gen 6 has gone all buggy on me suddenly, first she got the career outfit 'wont go to work' bug but I knew how to sort that by giving her a second career outfit but now she just reset while using the moodlet manager on her husband, if that was all it had done it would be fine but it also wiped her relationship panel and her family tree and now she resets everytime she interacts with another sim. It also showed her family tree portrait as greyed out as if she was dead  ???

I tried the usual fixes of reset sim and clearing caches but it hasn't helped, can I go back to a save prior to her using the moodlet manager please? never had this happen before, it backfires sometimes but it's never reset anybody.

Hi, I'm new to this forum. I was trying to do the immortal dynasty when I ran into a major technical glitch, but I'm not sure where I'm supposed to post my technical concerns, so I apologize if this is the wrong place! > . <

Anyways, I was in camera mode (not from a sim, the player photo mode) and I forgot that I had just sent another sim to invite someone out. I should have taken a screenshot, but basically the game paused while I was in the photo mode (so I didn't have the cursor up) and there was a button for "go back" on the bottom third of the screen. I would have obviously clicked "go back", but as I've mentioned, I didn't have the cursor. If I moved my mouse, it just moved the camera. I tried a number of things, such as resetting the sim who was making the call and pressing escape, but nothing helped. I had to quit the game. Is it fine for me to continue the dynasty by going back to the last save file?

Sure, go back to a previous save.

Yep, going back is fine.
