Quick Question, can we place the registers from World Adventures onto a property that we own?

If it doesn't require a cheat then yes you can.  You can only place them using the property that you bought using real estate and never edit town type thing.

I was reading the Evans immortal story earlier and in one of the comments Vinyl mentioned this.

Quote
Since I'm not sure if both parents have to still be alive when the heir is born I wanted to warn you about that rare potentially game-ending possibility.

This isn't the first time I've seen this mentioned, the rules state heirs must result from a natural pregnancy with both parents living in the dynasty house. Now I took that to mean at time of conception or is it at birth?

It's a bit late in the day now I'm on gen six but my gen two married an elder and he died a few hours before gen three was born, he was bang on 90 and I'd hoped he'd at least last the day but he didn't, so does this invalidate HoF or not?

It has recently come to the team's attention that having deathflower seeds in your inventory can be used to stay off death.  A big thank you to turoskel for doing all the testing. From now on, the challenge teams asks that special seeds not be kept in the inventories of non-immortals or pre-Ambrosia immortals-to-be due to the possibility of it saving a Sim's life. You can collect the seeds and have them in your inventory to plant them but if you're not going to plant them immediately, place them on the floor, in a cabinet/chest or in the fridge (if possible).

Christopher Steel, one of my helpers in the Geranson Immortal Dynasty, had a set of 7 special seeds in his inventory. Christopher identified them (prior to the date of Ricalynn's ruling I've quoted in this post), and they remained stacked after identification. The image showed them as being life seeds, and at that stage I was cursing my lack of deathflowers and moneytrees. I thought that the whole stack would all have been life seeds, because I thought that identified seeds would be automatically grouped into different icons in the inventory.

I opened the stack tonight and discovered that while the first three were life seeds, the next two were plasma seeds, and then the last two were a death seed and a money tree seed.

I immediately tried to put them all into the alchemy cabinet I had in my house. The life seeds and the plasma seeds went without a problem. The death seed and the money tree seed can't get moved out of his inventory.

I sometimes have this same issue with cameras at the start of a game. Sometimes the cameras can't be sold or used. Is there a recommendation on what I can do about this with the seeds?

Edit: Actually, it doesn't matter now. I managed to get them out of his inventory and put them on the ground. Later I returned to him and he no longer had them in his inventory. Then, I managed to somehow delete the two seeds, oops.

Ooh, I'd forgotten about this.  I'm still not sure if the rule means the parents must be living in the house at time of conception or at time of birth.  I was using the elder spouse strategy in my speed run until one of the potential spouses died of old age mere hours after his elder birthday!  At that point I re-read the rule, got paranoid, and made sure they'd live long enough for the birth.  When I saw Orange Iguana mention the elder spouse strategy I shared my unresolved paranoia.

Do both parents have to be alive* and residing in the dynasty when the heir is born?  Or just alive and residing in the dynasty house at time of conception?

*By alive I mean actively controlled member of the household regardless of living or undead life state (ghost)

See, I've always thought of that as alive at the time of conception. As long as they were living together when the nooboo was conceived and his death wasn't engineered (i.e. dropping him in the pool and deleting the ladder etc) then you're fine. If he wasn't actively living in the household as a playable character (not a roommate!) when the target sim got pregnant and died before he could get moved in then, well dynasty toast! (Mind you, I don't try for nooboo until everyone is safely moved in  :P

How do you get a chest or cabinet for seeds and flowers without cheating or travelling? Is it possible? I have all expansions except Showtime and Island Paradise and I only have Town Life Stuff for stuff packs.

The alchemy cabinets that came with Supernatural can store seeds and can be bought from buy mode (they're under Surfaces -> Displays).

@Dek - I find this is often an issue with identifying seeds so I don't even bother anymore.

@bubbles - Alchemy cabinets can hold seeds. This is also why I said on the ground in case someone didn't have Supernatural or hasn't gotten to the point where they could travel.

@Turoskel, Vinyl, honeylamb - This is how it works.  Both parents have to be controllable within the household at the time of the chimes.  This means the father and mother must both live in the house and then you can work on the nooboo.  There is no getting pregnant before moving in.  That's what failed Orange Iguana last time.  Should the spouse die before the baby is born that's fine.  Just hope that the spouse leaving a space in the household doesn't get you twins instead of a single.

I've had the same issue with the seeds as well, so what I've taken to doing is, prior to identification, I separate the stack into individuals (so my 1 stack of 3 special seeds is now 3 stacks of 1 special seed). After the identification, if they can be restacked, then I'll do it. I haven't had a problem with them since.

Thank you Rica, that is how I had interpreted the rule originally, as for twins at that point it wouldn't have mattered but now I'm at the point where the logistics are giving me a headache, I made sure gen 5 had her baby well before her mother died so there could only be one, I also made sure gen 5 married an older man so he would leave room for gen 6 to have a baby, so here's hoping he's not extremely long lived, it all seemed so simple at the start  ::)

Thanks for the quick reply, Rica! Currently, a death flower is in the front gardening spot and it is irritating. I just want that spot to be clear!(So OCD!)

Turoskel,

I understand.  My Generation 5 spouse outlived her son's first wife and lived long enough to get her son's elder portrait done.  It was very close to her making it so he would need a third wife to get the job done.

There is a trick you can do if you own the pets expansion. You can read about it in the hints and tips thread.
