I don't know but I've tested it a bunch of times because I wanted him in my immortal dynasty.  Days to Aging: Never is what it always says.  This is even true when you choose him as a household.

That sounds like an age-freeze potion. Was he saved that way?

I've never tried to use an age-freeze saved Sim in a new file, so I don't know.

I don't know either.   I have informed the UC team but until it's fixed, this is our solution.   I don't remember him being like this in an older version of the town but it is definitely that way for the Seasons edition.

Currently working on the ID challenge, but I'm confused about something; are the immortals not allowed to max out a second skill, or can the second immortal just not use the first immortal's second maxed out skill as their own "unique" one?

Also, my game has a tendency to freeze a lot, and it often gets bad to where I have to shutdown my whole computer, and I sometimes lose progress. Fortunately, I get in the habit of saving frequently, but would that be considered cheating, if I continue the game where I left off, even if I didn't do it intentionally?

Thanks in advance.

Every immortal must have a certain skill that they supermax. No other immortals can reach 10 points in this skill. Any other immortals max is 9.

No, I don't believe so, as long as it not intentionally.

Saving a lot is a great habit !

EDIT:

The immortals can max any other skill as long as it isn't and doesn't become anothers immotal special skill

SO each immortal has one skill each specific to them, the all other skills are aloud to be practiced by all immortals, does that make sense?

Alright, thanks. Guess the non-immortal spouse will have to do everything!

Also, I see that a lot of the "portraits" in the hall of fame for this challenge generally look rather good. But in my experience with most of the artists I've had in Sims 3,  their portraits don't always look so "close to real life" and look more like a grainy-abstract mess. Is there a way to avoid this??

EDIT: Oh, okay...I think? Still a little bit confused. So basically, Immortal #1 can have Gardening as his "designated" immortal skill, and max out a fishing one if he wants, but...none of the future immortals can use that skill as their own "designated" immortal skill, but can max out fishing as well, if they feel like it?

Immortals can max any skills that are NOT supermaxes of other immortals. In other words, if no one is supermaxing cooking, everyone can max cooking. If someone is supermaxing cooking, then immortals can't max cooking.

For clear portraits, you just have to try over and over for a good one. Photographs, with a camera from WA, always come out clearly.

The portrait gets grainy when the sim painting it has the stir crazy moodlet. That means they havnt been out of the house for a few days.

I believe this portraits are acceptable but to easily get rid of it I just send the person to the spa for a quick spa treatment. Just getting them out of the house will take care of it.

A side note: If you want to write a story for your dynasty you can do so in the Stories thread. I didn't know that when I started so I wanted to let you know :)

Welcome to the forum ! :)

I wish you the best of luck with you dynasty! :)

Alrighty, thanks. :3

A few more questions; I didn't see it say much about University "traveling," so I assume that's allowed, is unlimited as far as how often you go, and you can take up one of the premade/rent homes?

Also, there is no limit as to whom an immortal can marry, right? Cause I had my guy room up with/get engaged with one of the townies, and they were rather rich before and brought along some money and expensive things to the household. Didn't realize it at the time how much she would bring, so I don't know if that is cheating when it comes to the expenses.

And lastly, is there a way to see which opportunities your sim has completed?

Sorry for all the questions.

Yes going to University is "traveling" and you can go unlimited once the 2nd generation becomes a young adult, yes you can.

No limit on who to marry.

No you have to write down the titles as you go.

Don't worry, this forum is made for questions!

Hello and Welcome to the Forum.  I'm Ricalynn and I'm one of the Challenge Board Assistants for this forum.   Always remember that while it's great that our forum members are helpful when it comes to technicalities - always wait for myself, ratchie, Metro or Pam to get the go ahead.

It's not cheating unless your computer freezes and shuts down when you get mad at the game and do it yourself.  Otherwise, it just sounds like a glitch.  My recommendations would be to set a timer on a watch, clock or phone and restart the whole game every 2 hours or so.   Yes, this can be a major pain in the petunia but it saved me on my old computer.

The portraits that people use for their museum is the ones they chose.    You can get grainy portraits at anytime.  It's just a random filter that is given to a portrait when it's being painted.  Trust me after 20 or so artists I know that their moodlets or mood or anything else is actually a factor.  It is completely random.  If you don't like that type of portrait, sell it and make another one.  There is no guarantee the next one will be a good one either.

As for the skills - supermaxes have to be unique to an immortal.  As the others said, that means that no other immortal can learn a skill that is to be a designated supermax.  If someone else maxes it, the skill becomes invalid for future use or makes your dynasty ineligible for Hall of Fame.  It's a failure but some people continue on anyway to finish the story.

In the rules it states that University is considered traveling.  All traveling is banned until your second generation is a young adult due to bugs.   However once you reach that point, you can travel as often as you wish.   Just remember if you're having problems with your computer where it freezes and everything else - that traveling, even in University traveling, may not be in your best interest.   Every visit to a foreign land/university causes your save file to get larger and larger as it has to store the pictures, life states, grades, traits, social group information, memories, inventories, etc of every person you meet while there.

There is no limit on who you can marry, no.   There are a lot of people who choose specific spouses for their founders because of the money they will bring in plus their cars.   It's a good way to get a nice buffer going and to start building a house to live in.  I myself used Agnes Crumplebottom in at least two of my original dynasty tries.  Metro did the same thing.

Opportunities is one of those things you have to keep up with.   There is a spreadsheet linked in the rules that can be downloaded and used.  In the dynasty tips thread, someone mentioned using your character's bio page to write down what requirements are done.   I personally use notepad and have it written down and I know of yet another person who uses a sticky note program and keeps it up while he is playing.

As doxxie said, never hesitate to ask questions.  We don't mind at all.   If you want to, you can even PM me at any time and I will gladly help you with problems, questions or concerns.

Oh, so the first gen can't go to University until the second gen is a young adult? Shoot. Guess this means I gotta start over. xD;

Last question (hopefully): the rules say no makeovers, but does it mean SPECIFIC makeovers at the style stations or just in general (like the "change appearance" options at the mirror or "plan outfit" for dressers")?

Again, thank you very much for the help~ <3

Right, no university until the second Gen is YA as stated in the rules.

No makeovers as in the specific actions that are labeled makeover. These are only associated with the styling salon.    Dressers and mirrors are fine.

For those of you who want to play in Dragon Valley plus have seasons - make sure to change the lot type to Festival Grounds.   This is the only lot that can ever be placed by  and  have the designation change.   All other lots must retain their library designation.

I'm trying to start an Immortal Dynasty in Appaloosa Plains. I chose the lot specified for Appaloosa Plains in the dynasty rules, but that left me with 8,003 simoleons instead of 1,800. I tried doing the familyfunds cheat, but either I did something wrong or it didn't work. How can I get my funds to the right level?
Please take a look at my story, the Thousand House!
