Yeah, you're probably very right about the time-factor. I forgot about that ;D

And actually there is a rule against giving someone the Unlucky trait to actively try and prevent death.
I didn't know about that sorry :-[, but I have never chosen that trait so far.

But to go to the casino when it is not a lucky day and choose the unlucky trait for no reason is pretending that my brain doesn't work... ;)
Problem? Don't panic! There is always a solution. You just have to find it  :D

I didn't know that there was an official rule about not choosing the unlucky trait. I really wanted to choose it for my magician so she didn't have any risk when doing the box of danger trick.
Perhaps Metro should add that to the rules one way or the other.

Here are the specific posts that involve the Unlucky trait being not banned but somewhat disallowed.  Someone can step in and tell me if I'm wrong though.

I knew there was an unwritten rule about purposly choosing the unlucky trait which is why I have never intentional chosen it for anyone.I was just saying that it might be an idea for it to be put into the rules on the first page.

Okay I clarified:

  • Create 1 Young Adult (using a Swap Shop Sim is also fine). Traits and LTW are unrestricted, however please do not do sneaky tricks like choosing Unlucky for spouses simply to prolong their life.

Thank you for clarifying that Metro!

I hope you don't mind me asking, but I see the rule is added at the top at "Game Set Up and Lot Choice". Since it is about the spouse, which you won't have at the set up of the game, may I suggest to place the rule with "Household Matters" please?
If added to this part: "•Non-Immortal household members (spouses, spare children, and other live-ins) are not tied to the same restrictions as immortals. They are free to choose any LTW, career, skills, etc." it would be more in place I think, for the better overview :)

So, I have a question... Say you move someone in, and you confirm that they are at the start of their life stage. And then that night, for silly glitchy reasons, they spontaneously age up, effectively skipping a life-stage while under your control.

Can you do anything about this, like using edit-in-create-a-sim to fix this and only this, or are you stuck with this nonsensical state of things?

Unfortunately you are stuck with it. There have been several people who have ended up with spouses that age up to elder right after the wedding. A lot of NPCs tend to skip life stages.

Well, that doesn't completely mess up my options, but it does change my plans a good bit...

Was this an NPC Sim?  Their aging is always bugged and will be an issue any time you bring one into the household.

I asked on the help board, and it was said that if I moved them in, it'd stop aging shenanaigans. Welp, guess I know better now...That it's too late, of course. Well, not totally too late. At she's only an Adult, instead of an Elder...

If you moved her in on the day the game designated as her birthday then there is a glitch that happens with Sims and Pets where the game will still think it's their birthday and will then age them up again even though they've already done it once.

I've started my Dynasty and the second generation is a toddler. I've really started to love the little guys and their house. However, I really don't like the town. I struggle to navigate around it and can't find special seeds and such. Is it ok to save them and their house to the bin and shift them to Sunset Valley?

 :)

If you want to go for Hall of Fame then no.   What town are you in?  There are a lot of people who read this thread that may be able to help you without you having to switch towns.
