Normally I would agree with all of you but in my dynasty - the animals that are red have less than 10,000 spendable points and all the ones who are blue had over 10,000 left to spend.    They have all had over 30,000 pts each.

Nonamena mentions in our ghost pet thread here about how the game only checks what's available to spend not what's been earned.

Ooh, drat!  I didn't know that.  My pets might have red ghosts, then. :(

I suspect I already know the answer to this question, but I thought if I don't ask it I won't know for sure. :)

One of my 'non-immortal' sim family members just witnessed the death of a townie sim (Marty Keaton). My sim just got the wish to resurrect said townie sim with ambrosia, a wish that would give him 10,000 points. Am I able to fulfill that wish and for the dynasty to continue in accordance with the rules of the ID Challenge, as Marty is not a member of the family I'm controlling, or does the rule of no ambrosia for non-immortals extend beyond my family members to all sims in the neighbourhood?

Thank you,

Dek

Thought so. :)

Edit: Well, Agnes has just died. All the family was at home, except for my founder who was out doing the run of collecting the money from his and his heir's properties. Thankfully someone else can do portraits and is maxing gardening in my family, and the founder's supermaxed skill is cooking.

I'm sad about her dying, but she did live a good long life, until about 92 or 93, I think her sister, Cornelia reached about 95. Plus, her dying means that I can bring in Generation 3. I hope that one of these plants that were planted turns out to be a life plant. I've had death fish and ambrosia recipe for quite some time, oh and that means my founder needs another best friend. I hope the Hatch woman doesn't die.

I'd just like to clarify about whether the multitab6000 is allowed in official dynasties. I know it's probably been mentioned earlier in the thread but there is just too many pages to go through and check.  Just because I've noticed in other games that if you have a sim listen to a tabcast while doing the corresponding skill, it speeds the progression of the skill. While it might be better used to increase two skills at the same time, such as listening to the writing tabcast while painting. I know it makes homework faster, especially with a genius sim, they can be done in no time. Although children only get four tabcasts to listen to, and can't buy books with it.

The Multitab 6000 is fine for Dynasties.

Thanks Pam.

I'll so be doing a fairy based dynasty once Supernatural EP comes out. It might not be official, with fairies aging slower, but it would sure be fun. I'd turn off the other races to make sure there would be enough fairies around for all the generations.
Perhaps a special dynasty could be made for the supernaturals, something different from the Immortals dynasty

My founder qualified for immortality at long last.

He was immortalised on the same day as his granddaughter, Brendolan, was born (so yep, Gen 3 heir has arrived).

While one of his (spare) sons became an ice personality on the same day, at around the same time of his granddaughter being born, I thought it best to make him immortal before any of his 6 Best Friends had their journey with Grim. I believe he was 85 days when he was immortalised.

Brandolan is going to be supermaxing painting and is to be given the LTW of Master of the Arts. Her Granddad is playing the guitar so they can jam together when they grow up.

My biggest challenge at this stage is going to be waiting for the other children of the Founder, as well as my Gen 2 heir's partner, to die, which I knew from the beginning. Having a ball though, which is the main thing.

Hi guys, a quick question: Is the casino allowed?
Problem? Don't panic! There is always a solution. You just have to find it  :D

Uhm, honestly? ;)
Because my lucky sim wins a lot on her lucky day...
Ok, she went to the casino only once, but she won about 12.000. That's quite a lot if you would be starting a Dynasty. It feels a little like cheating...
Of course, I haven't been able to check yet if she'll always win on her lucky day, but I thought I'd ask first if it was allowed.
By the way, if it isn't her lucky day she seems to be getting the moodlet "lucky day" as soon as she starts to win something at the casino.
I am gonna play some more and see if it was just beginners luck or if it is a regular thing.

On the other hand, other traits have other advantages. Like the unlucky trait prevents accidental death and that isn't considered cheating either ;)

Your Sim may be winning a lot but some of my Sims only lose and they don't have lucky or unlucky.   I think until the skill is progressed further it all comes down to chance regardless of the traits.  You said it yourself, you're only going on a lucky day.  Have you tried it when she wasn't feeling lucky?  You can't win too much because for a lot of dynasty Sims they don't have a lot of money to spend if they are going to lose any.   Plus who has time in the founder stage to watch someone sit at a slot machine or a card table when there is four skills to get to at least level 7 not to mention another one if the founder isn't doing one of the initial four?

On the other hand, other traits have other advantages. Like the unlucky trait prevents accidental death and that isn't considered cheating either ;)

And actually there is a rule against giving someone the Unlucky trait to actively try and prevent death.
