I don't understand -- the Watering Hole Saloon is in the lot library; it seems to me you should be able to place it in Riverview as a dive bar.

I didn't know it was in there, sorry if I gave the wrong information.  :-\ Best to wait for Carl/Pam or whoever might have asked before.

The way it works is if it's in the library you can put it down so you can put the Watering Hole Saloon but changing a lot type is not an allowed usage of Edit Town.

I think one source of confusion is that both Riverview and Appaloosa Plains have an establishment called the Watering Hole - and I don't think they're the same.

There seem to be a lot of places in Riverview that aren't set up in the best way possible - particularly the Watering Hole and the All The Rave Warehouse both seem to have been intended as bars, but aren't, and with the default lot types they can't even be purchased and upgraded. Most of the parks also can't be purchased for some reason.

The Watering Hole Saloon is the dive bar from Appaloosa Plains.

The Watering Hole Juice Bar is the place in Riverview by the giant gazebo.

Hello! So I see there is a lot of talk about what is/is not allowed in edit town. So I understand you can drop any lot that is already in the library you can place it in your town. However if you are not allowed to change lot type, does that mean if you don't already have a community lot of that size on the map you can place that lot? For instance if I wanted to place the film studio, I couldn't place it since there is no community lot big enough already? Does that then leave the film career off limits for any dynasty not starting in Bridgeport?

Sorry if this has been answered before, I am trying to get my own Dynasty in order, and I want to make sure that I follow all the rules :)

Obviously, an empty lot would have to be changed to be able to place new lots that weren't available before certain expansions came out.  You, however, cannot change the type of lot regarding lots that already exist.

Ok, so you can change the lots that are already there then. I still have the problem that none of the existing lots are big enough for a movie studio :(

I'm on the second generation of the challenge and I have a few questions.

1) If an immortal purchases the Collection Helper or Moodlet Manager as a lifetime reward, can other immortals use the physical object that comes with that reward.  Or can only the immortal that buys it use it?  What if a mortal spouse buys one?  Can the immortals all share it amongst themselves?

2) I think I may have made a mistake in my first generation.  I had my founder SuperMax charisma.  And that's the skill I counted for him when he ate his Ambrosia.  Does this now mean that no other immortal can be allowed to get to level 10 Charisma?  I'm worried because my founder's mortal spouse got to level 9 charisma just by talking to her friends.  Does this mean that my next 7 generations of immortals are going to have to be hermits and not talk to anyone?

3) Does Ambrosia have to be made fresh?  Can I have my founder's mortal spouse make a whole bunch of Ambrosia and store it in the basement?  If I can do that, can only he eat the stored Ambrosia, or can it be used for future generations when they reach immortality too?

1 - If say, your Founder buys the Moodlet Manager then anyone can use it. However if it is your Unique Reward no other Immortal may buy one. Mortals are unrestricted to that rule, they can buy a Moodlet Manager and can give it for anyone else to use.

2 - Yes, no other Immortal may reach Level 10 in Charisma. Mortals can since they are not governed by the Challenge's Requirements. No, your Sims will only learn Charisma by practising their speech in a mirror, reading a book or taking a class, or some Opportunities, so avoid those and you should be fine.

3 - Ambrosia can be made however you want, the favourite method is to find a Level 10 Chef have them make Ambrosia and store it on a Replicator when it is in the Bowl form since that is when you can replicate it, when Replicated it turns into the proper dish. So if you want your Founders Spouse to make it and store it that is fine, or you can have an Immortal who learns Cooking and maxes it to make it each time but that is not as safe as having a secure source of the dish.

Samoht I think if somebody has the charisma trait then they can raise their charisma level by talking to people too. I might be wrong about it but I am sure I have seen the skill rising when my Sims have been socialising.

If you make sure not to give any of your other immortals the charisma trait they should be alright.

Oh I didn't know about that because I only ever give that trait to someone who will skill Charisma.

Ok, so you can change the lots that are already there then. I still have the problem that none of the existing lots are big enough for a movie studio :(

For the movie studio, you may use the World Editor in Edit Town to put down a lot that's big enough to hold it.  However, the terrain won't be an exact match and there's not much you can do about it.  Just make sure there's enough flat space that your Sim can get to the entrance from the street.

2) Any Sim who has the Charisma skill will increase his/her Charisma when talking to other Sims.  It doesn't matter if he/she has the Charismatic trait.  Yes, if your founder SuperMaxed Charisma, no immortal is allowed to have level 10.  And yes, this will be difficult to manage in an Immortal Dynasty unless you avoid the Charisma skill altogether for future generations.  In my Immortal Dynasty, Charisma was one of the skills that all immortals were allowed to learn.  It was very helpful in meeting the friends requirement.

3) You may store Ambrosia.  Just be very careful that nobody else can get to it and accidentally eat it.  It would be a deal breaker for your Dynasty if anyone besides an Elder who has met all the Ambrosia requirements were to eat the stored Ambrosia.

For storing ambrosia, I'd recommend one of the treasure chests from WA. Any refrigerator you put it in will make it accessible to all refrigerators on your lot so that anyone could get it as a leftover.
