Oh wow! Ha, Eveline is quite the popular lady.
I laughed a little harder than I should have.
I actually found Eveline's part one of the easier-to-read parts of the dynasty and I don't know why. Oh well. It was still a powerful chapter. And the last line, man.
Excellent job.
No worries, laughing too hard at something is never a bad thing. I'm glad, maybe I've found something that's making it easier to read - or maybe Eveline is just awesome, it's could be either one. I actually had a bit more to post, but after reading through on preview I went "no, I think that's enough." It leaves a lasting effect though, so I'm glad I did hold off on the other things.
*growls. I want WA, too! *sighs. I'm starting to have speculations about Majnun's role in the story. But wee, that could be just me.
I do like WA, especially since the bugs have been patched, but if this were a few weeks after it came out - I would've told you that you were crazy for wanting it considering all of the bugs one must suffer through to enjoy it. Hmm, speculations? I'm very curious as to what those speculations are...
Ooooh... This was EPIC!!!! Now what senses that the next migicy kid won't use??? Um... I give up, I guess I'm waiting for it but again awesome chapter. Oh, and I never was told what town they are in, what town is it?
Thank you! I'm glad I could write something so epic.
The Reapers are currently
taking over residing in Bridgeport.
It's giving me plenty of grief, but thankfully that's my last terrible town (lag-wise) - and I only had to take out half of the buildings to get it going! I'm actually still up for debate about this next one. Look towards the announcements below for some information on that.
Okay, not going to lie, the descriptions of Evie coming to terms with her limitations as well as her new abilities made me want to cuddle that little bundle of pixels. Very well written!
Ah, she's quite loveable. I can already see how her character is growing, and I'm really liking it. Thank you though! I do try very hard to make my characters believable.
So Eveline's skill is something like a bio sonar? Now that's interesting.
I imagine it's something like a bat (which is probably what you're referencing, except I'm not aware of that term). She sees things on a grid. If you've ever seen Avatar (Last Airbender) I imagine her similar to Toph, just using magic over bending to do that. She's still got limitations on it though, as every witch as limited magic they can draw from, so that will be interesting to factor in.
I enjoyed seeing Bear in the front seat of the taxi. Now I want to test that on my game. d: I'm glad that Evie can see, though I'm glad it's without color, or it would be pushing her ability a bit far, in my opinion.
Ha, Bear looks great up there, all I can imagine was he was giving the driver directions - silly dog. There's no way she could ever see color, and she won't ever be able to see herself either (as she is the center of where her magic comes from). Really she sees things in shades of black, and it's not always accurate. So long as it's attached to the ground she can see it (so if it floats, she can't), and it's merely an outline so she can get an idea of where things are.
Wow, the scene between Majnun and Eveline was very touching! In his brief moments of sanity, Majnun can be very wise, insightful and caring. The moment he reverted back to his crazy self, though, made me laugh Looking forward to see what Majnun's role will be as your story continues. Another great chapter!
Haha, I was a little worried his sanity would be too much, but alas, Majnun saved the day for me. Majnun's appearance was crucial for me, as I knew Mary and Alec were magical, but they could never know how to teach their daughter. Mary learned from Agnes, both of whom had all of themselves. Majnun is the only Sim claimed to (be alive and) have lost something but still have full control over his magic - I mean, I could've invented someone else, but this just seemed right.
Eveline's way of seeing reminds me of the way Merlin learns to see again in the Fire of Merlin series, I loved it. Can't wait to see where this is going next! Also, what did you use to get her eyes that way? Just colored to white, or CC?
Honestly never read that series... I'll look into it.
Thank you though, and her eyes are CC. I wanted to make it a little exaggerated so it would be obvious on first sight that she couldn't see. Hopefully that's mission accomplished?
Mini-Thingy-majig.Well, we're a long way off from the next generation, so this isn't really relevant right now, but I thought I would give you all some general idea of where the next few generations will be. A long while ago, in a conversation between Majnun, myself and Alec (I believe) it was mentioned that Mary could only have one child, as her body was not conditioned to handle the powerful magic that was Eveline (who was growing in her at the time), Eveline though, being that she is a woman and she has immensely powerful magic in her, can have multiple children. If the next heir is a boy, his wife will only be able to have one pregnancy(because the child/ren growing within his wife will leave her barren as she could not be powerful enough to have more than one pregnancy). That is just for clarification, the real announcement was that there will no longer be heir polls (as there's simply no way I can have 4 children with different/similar disabilities, yet only have one become heir -thus meaning the others are... I dunno, it just doesn't quite add up that way) but the polls you will have will be town polls. I'm sorry if this is a disappointment, it took me a long time of juggling and thinking about ways I could make it work, but I just can't find any other way to really work it into the story and make it believable on my own level.
Hopefully I've explained it well enough so that it's understandable, but if the next heir were to be deaf (s/he won't, it's just an example) I can't have 3 children be deaf and only one take on the heirship, as heirship is going to the one who
traded pieces of themselves for magic, so if they all 3 did it, then it wouldn't be quite... fitting? *Shrugs* This was my reasoning for this, if that makes sense. I'm not going to say which child is heir up front (as I haven't decided, and it likely won't be any particular order either - like firstborns only, or so on).
Anyways, ramble ramble ramble. I do go on for longer than I need to. Town polls will be available for the birth of the next heir (or whenever after s/he is born, depends on how Bridgeport wants to deal with it). Either way, that will be there for you to vote over on. Sorry again if this is a disappointment, I just want to stay true to my storyline.
