Thanks to
rarespawn's idea, I rapidly created a bunch of young adult Sims with interesting, varied appearances that I really like. I started thinking about mini-games I might create in order to play them all together.
I thought about how it might be fun to move them all in to a houseboat (or apartment), and do some kind of elimination challenge, kind of like the reality show Survivor (or its many descendants). What if I could set up some rules to kick one Sim off the boat every X days, until I was left with one winner? The winner could perhaps be rewarded with a shiny new mansion in town.
I was thinking of elimination methods I might use. Because there aren't separate wallets for each Sim in a household, I couldn't run a moneymaking contest.
The way that an audience votes people off of reality shows is appealing, but my Sims lack a real audience.
Lifetime Happiness points might work--whoever has the lowest generated at the end of the week has to go. But, I feel like Lifetime Happiness points are too closely tied to my own decisions to feel like a real contest. For example, if Sim A has a wish to do something with Sim B, and Sim B doesn't have a wish about Sim A, should Sim B spend his time working on his own wishes, or should I interrupt him to help Sim A? I think that type of question would crop up a lot, and it would feel unfair.
I mainly play the game for the screenshots and stories (and I also enjoy interior decorating). So, I'd probably be doing this mainly to create a picturebook or to write a story about it.
Has anybody done some kind of Sim elimination game before? Or, do you have an idea about how I might run it? Thanks in advance!
