Okay, I'm going to give it a try. Should I delete my other Mods folder then that I already made?

Edit: Do I still install the mods like I normally would?

Yes you delete the one you made, and yes you install the mods as usual. Hope this helps :)

So you had an old version of resource.cfg.  Do what NonaMena wrote and test if the NoIntro mod works to see if your future mods will run properly  :)

I'm confused. I saved the mods I want into the mod folder that I downloaded but when I go back in to extract them, they're not there! I must be doing something wrong but I'm following the same directions I normally would when installing mods.

What I do(I use winrar) I click the download & a bar appears on the bottom of the browser (I use google chrome, not sure if it would make a difference) with a rectangular box. In the box is the winrar icon & the file name. I then right click on the box & a menu comes up. I select open when done(if it's still downloading) or open (if it's finished downloading). Then the winrar program opens and it contains the mod/file I downloaded. I right click the file & select 'extract specified folder to...' Another smaller window appears & I go to: Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Mods/Package and put it in there. Done.

I hope you understood that :D & I hope this helps!

Have you extracted them BEFORE you place them in the package folder? I don't know if that makes a difference but it is what I do. I usually download and it is placed in my downloads folder and I extract the .rar or .zip while I am still in the downloads folder and then take the .package file within and place it in my package folder. Does that make any sense? Lol, I know I am probably repeating others but I don't know what else to say. Sorry :(

That's okay. I think it makes sense and if I'm understanding correctly, I did do what you said. I'm just frustrated because it's no fun playing without story progression so I haven't really played in a while. :( Thanks for trying to help though!

If you haven't got it working yet, take a screenshot of your Mods folder, please.  Also, please answer these questions:

- Exactly where are placing the Mods folder? Please show the full path, but you can omit any self identifying information. For example, this is the path where my Mods folder is located, and I am using Windows 8:

C:\Users\*****\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods

Tip: You can click in the address bar to easily copy & paste the full path.

This picture shows where the Mods folder belongs:

- Here's an example of how your Mods folder should look, when you've extracted everything properly. Note that the Cache folder is a custom folder used by CC Magic. You won't have this folder and that's ok.

- What program are you using to extract the .zip you downloaded from MTS?
Personally, I prefer to use 7-zip. With 7 zip, I will move the FrameworkSetup.zip to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 . Then, I select the .zip, right click and choose 7-Zip > Extract Here
Once you've unzipped, you can delete the .zip, or leave it temporarily. If you're using the windows extractor to unzip the file, that's fine too. I just prefer 7-Zip because there's no hassle in choosing where to extract.

I also use 7-zip.

Is this the picture you wanted? If not, I can retake it.

And this is the path I used to get there: C:\Users\****\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\FrameworkSetup.zip\Mods\Packages

Okay! I see what you are doing! Take the 'Mods' folder out of the framework.zip and place in your Sims 3 folder.

Looks like this:
C:\Users\****\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages

Hope this helps :)

How do I do that? Copy and paste?

I would just drag the mods folder out of the framework.zip and place in the Sims 3 folder. But I assume you could copy and paste. Not sure how Windows 8 works though.

Ok, you actually have two problems.

1. Gulliver the Cat! is correct. You need to take the Mods folder out of the FrameworkSetup folder. Don't copy and paste the mods folder,  Cut & Paste it. You can also open the The Sims 3 folder, right click on the FrameworkSetup folder, and choose Open in new Window. Then drag and drop the Mods folder into the The Sims 3 folder. Once you have moved the Mods folder into The Sims 3 folder, delete the now empty folder called FrameworkSetup.

Your Sims 3 Folder should look like the first picture I posted. Click on the picture to enlarge it. You will notice that the Mods folder is inside The Sims 3 folder, not another folder.

2. You have not unzippped the NRaas mods. Since you are using 7-zip, select them all, then right-click and choose extract here. You can then delete.zip files.

Erm, the zipped files don't belong in the packages directory, you need to unzip them into the directory.
