Is it with one save file or with all of them? Also, have you tried restarting your game?

I looked around and it seems you are not the only one. Sadly, I couldn't find any definitive answers (but this was considered a University Life problem). Some suggested clearing your cache files/doing a factory reset.

Try clearing your cache files first (here is a tutorial) and start up your game and see if it worked.

Worse comes to worst and that doesn't help try the factory reset.

I really hope this works, but I am not for sure.

Wait, you have completely reinstalled your games? Sorry I had read your post incorrectly earlier! That pretty much does the factory reset and such already.
Hmmm, but now I really don't know. Have you run your game without Dragon Valley or UL?

It won't let you? Well, that's strange. Yeah, I looked back at that thread I saw earlier and it seems the original poster put it in the wrong section and the cause of the problem for most is unclear. Hopefully someone else will answer your question because I have no idea now. I'm truly sorry :(

Here are the 2 threads I was talking about (this and here).

Welcome to the forum shelbyb95.

In the launcher, have you gone to the Dragon Valley Icon under downloads and try uninstalling the world from there? It may be that it did not download properly.  If you uninstall from the launcher and then try to reinstall it from your "bought items" at the Sims 3 store it might work. Otherwise you might need to keep it uninstalled until the Store fixes the bug. I would try every once in a while to download it to see if it works.

I'm having this same issue, it started after the patch for IP.  It's really frustrating, just finished a 10 hour marathon reinstall of all expansions and stuff pack - I even bought IP hoping it would solve the problem as it was the only one I didn't have but alas that didn't help.  Does anyone have anything else that can help?

I did find a work around for the changing household which is to save the game after clicking the check mark going to the main menu or saving and quiting and restarting the game from the last save and the new family is playable, but unfortunately this is not an option when going to university.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sassy, try bypassing the launcher and playing off line whenever you want to change your active household or place a new family.  It's a bit of a pain if you decide you want to do this after your have loaded your game.  Otherwise its fine, once in the household you want to play you can select to connect if you so wish.

To bypass the launcher you will have to create a desktop icon to point to the file TS3XP10 in your game folder.

This works for me.

Sassy, sorry, I don't have University.  However, if I did, I would certainly give it a try.  Good luck.

Thanks Wai, just got a chance to try the bypassing the launcher and it didn't work *sign*  Although the game is still playable it is annoying that certain functions don't work and therefore leave that part unplayable (if that makes sense), I hope there is a fix soon.
