Unresponsive Consignment Register

Sims have the option to browse or buy, but when they get to the register and complete the interaction, no buy/sell screen appears.  I have bought the consignment store and replaced the register, but that hasn't changed anything.  the Elixir store register works fine.  Suggestions?

Your sims just go up to the consignment register and start talking but the option to browse / buy doesn't appear, correct?  I had that problem once, I tried clearing cache and exiting the game, that didn't help.  However when I restart my computer the next day it just suddenly work again, not sure if that is what make is work.  Also evicting family in edit town mode then move them back in might be your other option.  Is this for a dynasty challenge?

It is in my 4x4 challenge.  I've done the cache clear and the restart.  Browse/Buy pops up, I choose by, the sim goes to the register and initiates the interaction and then instead of the consignment list popping up, it vanishes from the queue.

I read through several forums, some suggested removing all the seeds in your inventory.  Do you happen to have any in your sims inventory? 

The last resort would be to evict your family in town mode, but first let's see if we have other forum members that can help you sort this out.

Have you consigned anything prior to this problem?  If you have, you may find that there is something still there and "past it's sell by date".  If this is the case, cancel the consignment, and sell the item(s) direct from your inventory, do not re-consign it.

It is one of the special seeds which can prevent sales at the consignment store (I think it is probably the money tree)  Remove all seeds from your inventory and then try again.  I don't have all EP, so, it could be there is something else which could also cause this problem.  I would remove all magic items from the inventory as well as the seeds, just in case.

Before taking any drastic action, do a Factory Reset, it may help.

Nope, no prior consignments.  The family had been exclusively using the elixir store up until that point.

The same thing happened to me only it was my elixir shop that was messing up. I ended up just starting a new game in a different world and it worked, but I would really like to know how to fix it if it ever happens again. Thanks for making this thread

Yeah, I think I'm just stuck without consignment options for my first 4x4 world.  Nothing I've tried has fixed it, including opening a shop on the other end of town and placing a consignment register there (alongside the savvy seller one).

Ugh.  Really wanted the nice camera.

The same thing happened to me only it was my elixir shop that was messing up. I ended up just starting a new game in a different world and it worked, but I would really like to know how to fix it if it ever happens again. Thanks for making this thread

You can try using edit town and bulldoze the elixir shop then replace it and see if that takes care of the problem.
