Yep! And Jack Limb, Sarah Holden and Dr. Synapse are Nightmare before Christmas.

Julian Poirot is confusing me a bit. I think he's in reference to a part in Watchmen, where Rorschach is telling a story about a depressed clown going to his doctor and asking for something to cheer him up. The doctor says, "Hey go see Pagliacci, he's the most amazing clown ever. He can make you happy." The clown starts to cry and says, "Doctor, I am Pagliacci!". I asked one of my friends about this sim and they think it's an Agatha Christie reference (Hercule Poirot).

edited to add: The more I think about it, the more I'm starting to think that the Winchesters are just red-headed Targaryens, minus the dragons.

I don't think Julian Poirot is a reference to Agatha Christie's Hercule; otherwise, he'd be a detective. He might be one of the four clowns from the Commedia dell'Arte (not sure about the spelling). The others were Harlequin, Columbine, and Pierrette.

I never saw The Nightmare Before Christmas, so am glad to hear that's where Jack Limb, etc. are drawn from. I knew they had to be characters from something.

For the Yates family, it doesn't seem like much of a stretch that Viola died and came back, does it? She's the same color as deceased sims in the world, she's barely friends with her son and she doesn't know anyone in town. Just a thought.

I just checked both here and Sims Wikia...find myself slightly shocked that Sarah Holden in my 4x4 file is...evil? But she's supposed to be good? The rest of her traits are all the same though.
Is there any chance that story progression can change one's trait or else? Well she must have grown some twisted love for the evil doctor and decide to choose his side...

I just checked both here and Sims Wikia...find myself slightly shocked that Sarah Holden in my 4x4 file is...evil? But she's supposed to be good? The rest of her traits are all the same though.

If SP changed her to a mermaid at some point, I heard that changes a trait to Evil. And if she doesn't go swimming regularly, she'd have changed back but kept the changed trait. That's my guess anyway.

I see...that could be the reason. She's a witch in my game, still living with the doctor and Jack Limb long dead, but she's been evil for a long time, I think it was a week or so from the start when I met her for the first time discovered her strange trait. For curiosity I made a backup of my dynasty file and switched to her household and just watch, she went happily to sleep in her prison room when she's tired LOL.

I've started an immortal dynasty (just for fun) in this town and I took in the Korean family and they are a great bunch of people that have the right traits/skills to sculpt/paint/fish. I can recommend moving them in at the start. They also take a nice 100.000 simoleons with them. I used Young Jae Sung as the father to the first heir and guess what: the babygirl that came out was yellow. I have absolutely NO idea why. My sim is not a rainbow sim and as far as I know, Jae Sung isn't one either o-O. Also, some sims in Midnight Hollow have a different colour than their bio on the sims wiki. For example, Todd Landgraab is completely white in my game. I checked, he's got the human lifestate. I don't know if this is a glitch or something that's actually supposed to happen. One thing I know for sure, this town and its residents are pretty strange.

I opened up Midnight Hollow to take a look at Young Jae Sung, since his Sims Wiki picture made him look like he was on the yellow slider (it's hard to notice on the pale end of the slider). And yes, he's on the yellow slider:



Cute toddler, though. I might have to capture Jae for my own use.

As for Todd, he's simply on the grey skintone slider. Human sims can be grey.

Ahh I didn't know there was a slider that was purely yellow! Awesome .

I've checked most of the residents of Midnight Hollow and a great amount of them is on the white to black slider, while the household with Young Jae Sung is completely yellow.
