Rain vs. Simbots

Does anyone know of a way to prevent Simbots from breaking down if they get wet? I love the seasons expansion pack and the rain, and don't want to turn it off. But, rain + Simbot = no fun! Even umbrellas are of minimal assistance. I just think that Simbots should have a way to protect themselves from water. Vampires have lots of legit ways to protect themselves from the sun, but there's nothing to help out poor Simbots from shorting out in water.
I am open to mods or cheats. I am just looking for some suggestions.
