Nomad "Legacy" (and some questions)
« on: September 23, 2013, 11:30:31 AM »
I first want to say that I have read and reread the forum rules and story rules, so please forgive and inform me if this is inappropriate for this forum. I would like to become a more involved member of these forums and read your stories. (That is my favorite thing to do when work is slow).
I have started a nomad dynasty on my blog site. Each new generation moves into a new town. I am not playing it as a challenge, which is why I put legacy in quotations. I have shared the link to my story in my signature below.
I have a question as well. Do some people on this forum share their story directly via the forum? Do others just update their readers via this forum? Is that even appropriate to do?
Thank you in advance for your help and for reading my posts. I love this Sims 3 site (seriously, all time favorite site).

Many of us update the story directly on the forum (I among them), actually I think that is the norm.

Thank you for the information. I think because I am somewhat new to the forums, I get confused with stories posted directly in the forums because if I want to start reading them from the beginning, I have to scroll through the entire topic. Then, I have to scroll through everyone's comments. Thus, I highly prefer reading people's stories on external sites that are easier for me to see where to begin reading. For example, reading Pam's stories was easy and I didn't get confused (since they are featured on the main site). Anyway, is there a thread with links pointing to stories that aren't written within a forum?

Not that I know of, though I am limited in my knowledge of such.

No there is no such list. However, many writers on this forum has a chapter list in one of the first posts, so there you can just choose what chapter to read which makes it easier to skip the comments if you want to catch up :)

Hi smaurine82,

To add to what wiry and saltpastillen have said, there are some that will post their stories to blogs and then post a thread here with chapter links for their updates. My friend SimBlip has a story on hold at the moment, but here is a link to her story thread to show how she did hers.

I just bookmarked your blog and will read you story

Thanks for the link! I love reading stories off-forum because it is just easier for me. I read at work, so I may have to pause at any moment to take a phone call or respond to a question, and then I get really confused when I come back to the blog (often the next day). I appreciate you looking at my story and I also appreciate feedback. I am a long-time Simmer, but a nooboo to interacting in the wonderful Simming communities out there. Thus far, I like this forum the best.
