Sims Taking hours to perform tasks.

I'm running a game with all EPs except Island Paradise. I seem to have a problem where my sims will take hours to complete any task at all. I've looked through other threads with somewhat similar problems and have tried the following:

Moving sims to new house/new town.
Resetsim and resetsim *
Doing a 1/4 install by making a new sims 3 folder

Some people seem to think the problem is caused by changing clothes, but my sims never attempt to change clothes when this happens. Any ideas?

I am sorry this is happening to your game dieidiotscum. I have a few questions for you.

Does this happen on all your game files or just one? Does this happen when you first start the game or after playing it for a while? Do you have any mods installed on your game? Do you have any CC installed?

I only have the one game file, items downloaded from the sims store, and no mods. That being said it was a rather large save. Following some advice in a message from MrsFlynn, I copied my house and family to the library, created a new save, and moved them into the new save. Solved all of my problems. Thank you both for your help!
