:o Ermhh.. I have museums above ground AND they have doors. Hehe, not so smart? I guess I'll go and delete the doors. Or just lock them. I have also learned that only creating a house with 8 chairs at a table is not smart. If there is a plate already there, they can't sit there. Or at least thats what mine did.

I'm pretty sure burglars can get through locked doors so it's better to just delete them!

Yeah, they can get through locked doors, like Jamie said.  I built my museum in the basement.  As for the plate on the table, just slide it to the sell space on the inventory tab before they sit.  :)

In my opinion there's nothing wrong to focus into the story. I'm quickly bored playing the games and I never finish actual challenges due to that and I will crush my progress purposefully making it failed for good when I totally lost my interest. I need to keep my interest high. What did I do? Creating stories…

I prefer short time, save and quit when playing the games. I usually took so many screenshots, because that is what I really enjoy from playing The Sims. Other people might be different, because we're different person anyway. This will help me to check everything again about the rules and everything; maybe the downside will be a slow progressing to your dynasty attempt. But, I love telling stories more than playing. I know my weakness, so this is the one how I deal with.

If you decide want to focus into story. You might want to create your own story first, do it and write down in the paper or notebook or whatever it is called before you decided to play the games. So, that will be easier for you to create additional event that you want in an actual Dynasty file and you can still enjoy your Sims randomness without your supervision anyway without having another saves.

I have seen people who has alternate save of their dynasty to create additional story, that was okay and no one forbid you as long your Dynasty unharmed but I personally prefer to never ever have another save of actual my Dynasty;  that make me lost appeal to gaming. Once again, know yourself.

I prefer having another world as my other saves for additional story though.

Another thing that I want to share, always have another save before travelling. You never know something unexpected will happen to you, as I read so many suffer and lost everything due to stupid bug (-_-)

Because I am control freak type of person, I usually do a lot of pause to check up what everyone doing so I can watch over them and cancel anything suspicious that might destroy my dynasty attempt.

And one more things, you know that unexpected things always happen in your game. Just go in flow, you’ll making your story interesting instead you keep insist with your idea. So many weird things happen in my game so many story plot-lines that have been altered.

Hope this will help.

Other things that I want to add from my observation all this time as a silent reader.

This might be one of factor why dynasty attempt failed as well.

Create your own story because you're really enjoying it. Never expect about anything. Comments are bonus for your effort. I know creating stories are hard! Not all of us blessed with that kind of talent. To be honest, I envy them too ::)

Yep, that was I want to say to everyone. I have seen lost so many potential good stories in this dynasty story board just become because of that thing. Before I register, I was sad to see there is no next chapter available to read. The failing thing is another matter, though.

So, back to yourself and please take a moment.

What's the purpose creating stories if you're not enjoying the process yourself?

I have seen so many challenger that discouraged because no one ever commenting. Never fear, just look at the view counts. You always have a silent reader and if you’re lucky there will be someone who comments on your story. You know that other grass might be greener than us, because so many wonderful writer, wonderful story.

Just enjoy being yourself, you're unique, special and no one ever create story like you ♥

My personal tip:

Don't marry glitched fairies without wings. I still hate myself for doing that with an old attempt (which I didn't post about)

Did they not have the green ring around their portrait?

I'm in agreement with Seabody on his points about choosing the town carefully and building small. A few attempts ago, I found that I could greatly improve performance by nixing the third floor to the dynasty house. Don't be afraid to go minimalist. You'd be surprised how little eight sims need to thrive.

Hank Goddard(In My Dynasty) was a fairy. He didn't have wings though, don't know how that happened.

This actually will not happen if you're taking a time to observe your surroundings. Not only looking into if they having wings or not. Just like what Trip said, look into their relationship panel for Llama ::)

I don't use any story progression on about supernatural being, celebrity and pets because I know that this will be such a nuisance to me so I prefer human being is enough.

So, looking a spouse just like when you want to buy something from a supermarket. If you not look carefully you might find one that already expired in your possession :P

Here's a list from me for failing your own Dynasty. I have so much fun writing this, I might add something else later.

Make sure that you store your ambrosia in refrigerator and left your Sims unattended. Voila, you might be failing anytime.
Moral of the story: Don't store AMBROSIA in refrigerator for your own sanity.

Make sure never stock Ambrosia Ingredient. Never plant again Life Fruit and catch any death fishes. So, if something happened to your Immortal due reach their own limit, you might be fail for good because you can't create your precious Ambrosia.
Moral of the story: Stock a lot! You never know unexpected thing!

Make sure that you keep special seed or death flower in your non immortal inventory because that will extend your non-Immortal lives. You will be happy right when Grim give them a second chances to life for a price failing your own attempt?
Moral of the story: Don't ever keep special seed or death flower in non-Immortal personal inventory for your sanity sake!

Let’s follow the advice from Hopeless Romantic Sim say: One for eternity. So, make sure just have one save just for everything. Be sure never save before travelling. You might find so many exciting that maybe happen in your Dynasty, like broken family tree, corrupt save file, Sims stuck in foreign world, Sims can’t get home, unwanted children and so much excitement waiting for you to start over and drive you insane!
Moral of the story: Be sure to have a lot of backup save! Just have one save = suicide

For life fruit, death fish, and death flowers, family storage is your best friend. Everyone keeps their pesky hands off. Lesson learned.

I have some advice about glitches. Always make backup files! I just make duplicates of the town with my dynasty so if I get a glitch I delete the glitched file and switch to another one. It saved my Bertone dynasty a couple of times. Of course, anything else that isn't a glitch (like an immortal dying) you are not allowed to use the backup file.

I failed one of mine because Agnes decided to eat the ambrosia while everyone was out at a wedding. Moral of the story: Never store ambrosia in the refrigerator

Never not watch your sims when they eat ambrosia, no matter how you store it. I store mine in food replicators (which no one can autonomously use), but I once failed five generations in because one of my immortals forgot to eat his ambrosia after replicating it, and one of the ghosts got it instead.

Don't keep ghosts on your home lot unless you watch your ambrosia like a hawk.

Here's another list from me for failing your own Dynasty. I always have fun writing this, I might add something else later.

Make sure that you’re so busy with your activity and forget to do your Immortal Museum requirement and play with high speed as possible and another day when your Sim age up; you’ll realize that something is missing and you’re officially will happy with the lost of your sanity.
Moral of the story: Do Immortal requirements right away, earlier that you get the better.

Make sure that you’re hang up the painting with drag tool and see right away if there’s some paint eater in your dynasty. You’ll be more excited if you do that when doing that after your Sim birthday and you never had any chance to make the second one ::)
Moral of the story: Use buy mode for your own sanity, glitches always happen. If your painting is disappearing in buy mode, you can always redo, but in reality with drag and drop your painting will gone for good.

Make sure that you’re use mirror and dresser a lot for your Sim and don’t forget to use Salon makeover station to do that, if you’re lucky your Sim age will expanded itself and that moment you’ll the happiest Simmer in the world to know that you’re failed again.
Moral of the story: Don’t use Salon makeover thing, and always check about the age thing before doing makeover, plus backup save before that, this is not forbidden as rules remove this restriction but you never know about the unexpected.

Make sure that you going on with your dynasty attempt without check challenge board and play your dynasty thorough until there’s a time that you realize that you've been failed because of the new rules added. You soon will join Tragic Clown.
Moral of the story: Always check challenge board, something might be added.
