How to fail an Immortal Dynasty or what not to do

Here is a chance to share those things one shouldn't do in an immortal dynasty.

Number one for me and the reason I failed twice museum pieces are very important. As soon as the candles are blown out and makeover is done get them to the easel.

Do not leave ambrosia lying around.

Start skilling early. Kumquat Smith was 96 before she ate ambrosia because I decided to let her have a childhood and not work on the logic skill. Huge mistake,huge,just scraped by on that one.

I've tried the dynasty- too scared to post or play beyond gen 3 xD - and I always make this mistake: I get bored of the old box house so I decide to re-model and forget to put museum pieces in a safe place and end up deleting the whole lot. That's the only one I've come across.

I've occasionally tripped up on minor rules, such as the one about not giving your pets the premium pet food (not sure if that's what it's called) because I didn't know it had the possibility to extend the pets life. Another problem I had (also involving pets) was that I let the family's dog's social level drop drastically and he got taken away. In a panic, I saved without quitting and broke the rule. Most of the other fails I've had have been down to computer glitches and problems with the file, or that I just plain give up

Never be afraid to ask questions. I never knew that pose player was a HOF rule breaker. LOL But it is, I am still continuing with my dynasty, just not HOF. I have been at it for a year now.

But always ask, what you think is silly, is not silly at all. It's better to know.

It's not clothing, furniture etc. it changes how the sims move etc for a period of time. It's considered a mod

I must echo the importance of museum pieces--failed a few attempts that way. The other times I failed were because my founder actually died before earning/eating Ambrosia. Things I learned: self-employment is hard and you have to really focus on getting promoted because it sure won't happen automatically. Gardeners don't get a day off! It's important to keep the garden running. Search for special seeds early and often to make sure you get the Life Fruit you need and the Money Trees that make mastering the career reasonable. Same with deathfish. Move in helpers as soon as you can so they can get skilling.

Remember the pause button is your friend.I once forgot to pause and Thornton set the kitchen on fire. Luckily nobody died but it was close.

Ha ha, well then, I have already failed, apparently.  Unless it's OK to go back into an old save for the pose-player poses.  That's what I've been doing.  I'll have to ask on the proper thread.  Thanks for the heads-up!

I have put in to double check again. Like I said, It never hurts to ask. I'm waiting to hear back from the Challenge Team now.

No. It's a mod. If you just want poses for screenshots, consider a second file.

Don't get your pre immortal sims to eat the magic jelly beans!!! I know the chance of them dying is really low but the one jelly bean anyone ate that entire save killed my second gen. Yeah I learned the hard way.

Also lock up that Steam bench.. The mud bath will reset the age by a couple of days..

Good news Metro is allowing the use of pose player in dynasties. Although it is a mod it does not give any advantage to dynasty players. So anyone who has used pose player is still eligible for hall of fame so long as all the other rules have been followed.
