2013 Tournament Finale: The 4x4 Golden Opportunity

I'm working hard to finish this challenge in time.. But recently my game has become more and more borked, so I'm completely reinstalling atm. I have kept the Save-file though, so I should be able to pick up where I left it.

So My load game cannot be loaded into my completely freshly installed game "it may have been saved with expansion pack data that is no longer present on this system". I've installed exactly what I had before, but noooo.. borked again! 

Anyway. DNF for me. And I'm looking forward to possible challenges next year

Never mind! I forgot to install one world, which happened to be the one I was playing in. 
I can happily continue and I hope to finish in time.

I had a lot of fun and I am happy with my score, but it could have been higher as I discovered a few tricks while I was playing my game file that could have helped me getting a better score.

It's tough to do a challenge which requires no cheats, because I am sure that my Sims will starve to death or pass out,

I'm just curious why, since Freewill has to be high they will stop what they are doing to eat or sleep.

Because I am a big control freak. 

Well, I tried a few days on a test file but deleted it. It was just too painful to watch my Sims needs drop into the red. I didn't have too much trouble handling their needs but they never got a chance to work on their skills before they had to hurry home to shower, eat and whatnot. I have had some success with feeding them since one of them makes a group meal and then they store the leftovers for breakfast, but still...

I don't think I can do this challenge. Sorry. My sig still stands.

Oh my gosh!!!  So clearly after looking at the few scores posted, there is something I haven't figured out about opportunities!!!!  I have never come across numbers like those!

I just started this and I read that I should have a piece of paper ready because the number goes up very fast… it goes up so fast I just don't have time to read it! And if I pause the game it just erases! What can I do? I'm hopping the higher my Sims are in Skills and in jobs the more their opportunities will pay, because so far I haven't been able to write down a single one!

Before you complete an OP, pause the game. Write down how many simoleans you have in your family. Unpause, let the op complete, pause again. Now subtract the old number from the new number. That is how much you got for completing it.

I just wanted to encourage more players to post some scores. Partial scores are totally okay — you do not have to finish all 12 weeks, so if you only make it to week 6 or 8 or whenever, then add up your most profitable opportunities at that point. Good luck to everyone finishing up.

I had hoped to finish with at least an average score, but one of my Sims bit the dust.  Guess I'll have to attempt a dynasty now!
