Can the banned items be made or bought and then sold?

Yes, the banned items can be made or bought, and then sold.  The main thing is you cannot "use" the banned items (like drink elixir, or throw elixir at someone else).

Also, looking through the challenge thread I think I've read that the stay-at-home sim shouldn't leave the home lot since the first child is born (IDK, this is probably from another challenge??). I skimmed through the thread again, but didn't find anything. Still bothers me, so I keep cancelling opportunities for this sim and keeping her home.
Can you please clarify this to me ... :D

The main point here is -- No Maids, Butlers, Babysitters, Bonehilda.  If at any point you have to hire a babysitter, your challenge has failed.  As long as no babysitter is hired, you are fine to continue and do whatever you need to do for the stay at home mom, even leave her home.

Remember no babysitters, and only the parents are allowed to provide any kind of care for a Baby or Toddler.

I'd like a ruling on this please, two of my children went on a field trip but the adult who took them was a ghost so they did the "eek a ghost!" thing and never entered the science building, I sent them back to school again as it said they were skipping, have I failed or is that yet another game mechanic like the hospital thing?

Turoskel-

The team will talk about this, will let you know asap.  As far as I know, this is a game mechanic and it shouldn't be a problem, but will confirm that with the team just to be 100% sure.

Important reminder — please stop the strategy talk in all Tournament challenge threads. I am not pointing any fingers at any particular players, so no need for anyone to get defensive. But after talking it over with team members, I ended up deleting a couple posts made yesterday in this thread. If you do not know whether or not something is considered strategy, then PM the team. But, when you get down to it, individual Tournament challenge threads are mainly there as a place to post rulesets and allow players to post scores and finally, to discuss strategy when I close the doors on an event. Everything else — can I do x, or y happened to me...what do I do?...all of that stuff needs to come in a PM to the team.

The team is: myself, ratchie, Nutella, and Blackrosea.

Thanks, everyone.

Sorry for adding a new ban after the event started, but just in case anyone was wondering:

  • Boarding school is banned.

Finally ready to start my challenge file! Pretty excited as this is my first challenge. I've read all the rules for this challenge + the 2003 General Challenge Rules. Is there anything else I should know of :o? Anything in particular that I should name my challenge file etc? Thanks in advance guys!

If you read the general challenge rules plus all the rules here, you're good to go.  Good luck.

Hi dulac. Welcome to the forum. You can call your file whatever you wish. That's just personal choice. If you're clear on all the rules and you are ready to create your "scoring" file (as opposed to a practice file), then go for it. When you're done you post your score in this thread and keep your lips sealed as to how you played (i.e. strategy). So, good luck and have fun. :)

Quick question, I read in the General Rules you are always free to do a resetSim if a Sim is stuck, but how do I go about this if I'm not sure which sim is stuck? My game is freezing/lagging every few in-game-minutes, becoming very difficult to play, and from previous experiences this is usually caused by a stuck sim somewhere. Am I supposed to mapview everywhere and manually find the stuck sim in this case? Thanks.

dulac-

You can do resetSim * - this will reset all the sim in your town.  Also clean your cache, helps with the freezing/lagging issue.

Hi forum

I was at my third town (I wont say how long, but I was not likely to be a champion contender) and my lady sim was about to have baby No 3. The game update kicked in and the next thing I know she is having baby No 3. Then she has baby No. 4. Then baby No. 5. I initially thought, cool i guess, triplets (never had them before), then she keeps having more babies until, eventually after baby No. 9 I find a moment between breeding to save and quit the game. I figured it might fix itself if i restarted but she still has nine babies (plus the original two from the first two towns) and she is still going!! I don't know how long she can keep this up for ... it must be a glitch, surely! Please tell me what to do! I have taken pictures of the screens so you can see my mega-baby issues!

Thanks!
