We can start on any lot/house we want. But we cannot move houses, just worlds, and only once the requirements are fulfilled.

Correct, you can start on any lot/house you want.   Moving world only when requirements are met.  As for moving houses, the team needs to discuss this matter further.

The military sim must go to work all days, so no calling in sick and/or taking unpaid time off

Correct.

No premium content, since it usually provides an advantage. Does this also apply specifically to the changing station that we got with the lullaby set?

No premium content at all for tournaments.  The changing station lullaby set cost 1900 simpoints at the store, so the item will not be allowed for tournaments, sorry.  Anything that requires you to pay simpoints (money) to purchase cannot be used for these tournaments.

Kids can do pretty much whatever they want. Except move a partner/spouse in, and daughters can't have nooboos (but sons can, since they aren't born in the household).

Remember, tournaments are on "long" lifespan.  Your starting Sims, their children and any pets are the only household members allowed, so this means the children of your 2 starting sims cannot have any children of their own or move in anybody.

Metro / Black might still make changes to this though, so keep checking :)

Thanks, Nutella!  :)

Sorry, guys, didn't mean to make such a stink about it :P

No moving household members out - does this mean cats and dogs can't be put up for adoption, or horses sold?

Do we have to move the morning after or could we decide to wait another day if we would like to do that?
And are there any restrictions on which skills can be learned?

Speaking of moving, since the new day always starts at 8am, would it be possible to amend the rule to be "before 8am" instead of "at 8am?" If we elect to lose a few hours of the day when we move, it would actually reduce the time we have available. I just have a feeling I'll realize at 8:10am I forgot to move when I should have.

I agree that there are disadvantages as well as advantages to having seasons installed. I think in 28 day seasons it won't affect you as much as if you have 7 day seasons.

Okay the team discussed a few things and the following edits have been made:

  • For Seasons players before going into Live mode and playing your file, choose summer as your season, and set it to 28 days. Turn the other seasons off. Temperature can be set to your choice via a cheat (turn cheats on > click on the ground > Seasons > Set Temperature. This needs to be done in every town you live in. Turn cheats off when you are done.
  • Island Paradise players cannot own a resort.

-------

EDIT: also we're agreeing with lvrugger's idea of having a little time buffer for the moving time:

  • For worlds #1 - #3 you may only call to move between 7-9 am because the game clock automatically resets to 8 am when starting in new neighborhoods.

It is your choice what worlds to move to, but each world must be different than the previous one.

Do we need to move to all four different worlds? Or just one of them? Can we choose not to move at all?

Four different worlds.  No you cannot choose to stay, must move.

The idea is to replicate the life of a military family -- every few years, you get a different posting.

So we have to set the temperature - to what?
