Where can I find Magic book and another problem..

I have a problem and call me stupid...

Anyway I got Supernatural but can't find the magic book. I read that you have to use sim points. That wouldn't be a problem if I could find the card to get the points.

Or is there another magic book I can use?

Second problem.

I have a sim who wants to become a well known doctor and is in the doctor field. However, she had a line of kids which put her on leave. Thus, about the time she went back to work the sim became an elder. So, afraid that she was going to die before I could get her to become a doctor I had her retire.

From there I had my sim get to level 10 with young again potion. Once I did that she went back to work.

But now she's stuck on the first level of the job.

While her son rose to the ranks fast.

Is there any way to fix this situation?

In reverse order:

Have you tried resetting the doctor-sim? And/or quitting medical, getting another job, then after a day or two, quit that one and go back to medical?

The book you're referring to (Lady Raven Gothdancer or something like that?) is not part of Supernatural - it's a premium content item you need to purchase from the store. You don't need a magic book for your witch to reach level 10 of witchiness. In fact, the only new books that I'm aware of is the fishing book for toads/luminous salamanders/fairy damsels and the alchemy recipe books.

What exactly do you mean by "she's stuck"? Is her performance bar at work not increasing at all? If it isn't, are you sure this is not because she is unhappy at work or not friends with colleagues, etc.? If she's doing poorly at that compared to her son, that might explain the difference.

The Alchemy Station that came with Supernatural is the skill item that teaches you to make potions.  Is that what you mean?  You can find it in Entertainment/Hobbies and Skills when you go into buy mode and sort by function.  It looks like a book on a small pedestal, with a cauldron next to it.

No I mean magic in general. I keep reading about it like you can do spells. Sorry if I wasn't clear but if only you can do is make  potions than I don't know..

Than what are the wands for?

If you click on your witch sim and choose "play with magic", she will improve in the skill, although her progress won't show up in the skill journal.

There is a book of spells you can purchase with SimPoints in the Sims 3 Store.  You can find it here.  That might be what you're looking for.

Nor do I have any clue on how to get the points. So..*sweat drops* It helps but it doesn't help.

You can try resetting her. Open the cheat bar (CTRL + Shift + c) and type "resetsim name" - put the sims full name where I typed 'name', and press enter.
