Sound is high pitched and faster than normal

I updated the software yesterday and when I first played the game, I noticed that the sounds, voices and music for the game were all much faster and higher pitched than they normally are. I've tried quitting the game and trying to play again but nothing's working. Ugh.

Is it the game or is it my computer that's causing this?

Perhaps it's the game? Mine started doing the same after I upgraded a fireplace in one of my households. I deleted that save game, and that seems to have solved the problem.

If you play at higher speed as speed 1, it s normal did you check this?
