Colourful Crayons - A Life States Dynasty
« on: September 04, 2013, 01:18:30 PM »
Welcome to the Crayola Life States Dynasty

This is a dynasty based on Crayola crayons. Each heir will be named after a different colour you can get in a standard sort of crayon. I'm excluding the glittery, smelly or otherwise fancy ones. It's not going to be as story based as my other dynasties.

The dynasty is in Moonlight Falls, with all supernatural types enabled.

I don't have a plan.

Meet Cerise

Cerise Crayola. Human. Favourite colour: pink (like her). Favour food: pancakes. Her lifetime wish is to be Street Credible

She's also the founder of a Life States Dynasty in Moonlight Falls.

Lucky her.

She's Good...

...Ambitious...

...Avant Garde...

...Nurturing...

...and Unlucky, given that all she's got to start with is an empty field.

She should have done a 4x4 dynasty. At least then she could have a house.

Her funds are reduced to £7,000, as per the rules, and this is pretty much all she can afford to buy with that. One fully equipped but cheap bathroom, a fridge, a table and chairs set, telescope and a street art kit.

I think she'd rather be anywhere else.

Yay!  Can't wait for more of this.  Lifestates is definitely one of the more challenging dynasties (for me anyway, it has been).  Those requirements are killer.

Yay an ArianaJade story! Now I want cherry candy... :'( I like this plan. Colours and themes are two of my favourites. You got really lucky with traits!

Yeah, I'm finding that already! The wishes are the hardest part - Cerise is 10 days from adult and hasn't got any of them yet! It's also probably that they're completely different to the sort of requirements I'm used to completing for a dynasty, so I've not totally got a system yet in completing them. Hopefully in a few generations time it'll get easier for us both!

I'm usually really bad at themes, I can't even remember how I came up with this one but I'm glad you liked it! I know I did, it probably means that from now on I'm going to get really weird or unhelpful rolls, but having a founder with good traits is so useful! And I've never done Street Art before, so it's forcing me to try a new skill out...

Also, I now want cherry candy too.

Great start! Looking forward to next chapter. I agree, the wishes are HARD - I just started a Life States dynasty as well.  ;)

Her face shape and her nose are my favourite of her features, I think. Glad you like her. And thanks, hopefully I won't need too much luck, but we'll see!

She's got one now... not that she wants to get anymore. Argh. I'll have to go check out your dynasty :)

Ooh, pink's my favourite colour! Cute is what I was going for, so that's good. Well, and slightly geeky.

Arrested Developments

First things first when you're doing a dynasty. I always start by getting my sim a job, and this time's no different even though Cerise won't have to max it. She does however need two career rewards, so she (I) have opted for ghost hunting. It's rolling in rewards and it's got a fair few wishes associated with it too.

Not that she'll pop any of those wishes. Oh no.

That'd be the obvious thing to do.

Speaking of the obvious, she then gets on with one of the two skills she'll be raising in order to get her skill challenges, Street Art.

I don't think it's bad for a first attempt. I was imagining something like the early painting levels where it's child-like and messy, but this is actually really neat. Cerise isn't convinced, though.

Before she can have another go, though, she gets arrested. By a policeman she's instantly attracted to. I can just imagine the conversation -

"Come along now, you're nicked."

"But, officer... *bats eyelashes* Wouldn't you rather go on a date with me?"

"Get in the car."

At least he's a fairy. I even vaguely considered him as a spouse choice just because it'd be funny. But then he fined her £1000, which is pretty much everything she had, and suddenly he's out of favour with Cerise.

It might be for the best.

I had someone in mind for Cerise right from picking Moonlight Falls as my town. I've seen him used in one other Lifestates Dynasty and ever since then he's been the only werewolf for me.

Cerise: You can keep him then. He's old. And he appears to already have a lady-friend.

Shh, you. This is a story where I talk and you keep quiet.

Yep, it's Pappy Wolff. I like him, even if Cerise doesn't. His only real flaw (other than insanity, age gap, creepily small eyes and his lack of skills) is that he's poor and therefore won't bring any money into the house. But we're going for the challenge here, right?

A little bit of pillow fighting...

...a friendly hug...

...and then off home to sleep.

The next day he's invited over to be asked to move in, just on the off chance he may somehow have gained a really nice car overnight from absolutely nowhere (Spoiler: he hadn't).

And, because it's what you do when someone new moves into your house, Cerise runs off to work. I suppose it's not like she needs to show him where anything is, because half of it's out on the lawn and the other half's the toilet.

Plus, we need to get ghost-hunting to get those career rewards.

So Day 3 dawns, with Cerise at level 2 of her career, Pappy her targetted spouse moved in, and absolutely nothing else accomplished except for that arrest. Time for some romance.

Pappy goes in there with the flowers. He's two lifestages ahead of her and in any context but the Sims this would be very, very creepy.

A bit of flirting. I don't think she dislikes him as much as she claims.

In fact it may be the opposite, if she's going in for the first kiss.

True love.

"So, do you want to be my boyfriend?"

"I don't think I've been able to describe myself as a boy for a good fifty years now. But yes."

Who says romance is dead?

Me. Time to stop flirting and get on with that first opportunity.

While Pappy is indeed dirt poor, he also starts with a nearly maxed-out hidden lycanthropy skill which means loads of gems if you send him out hunting. In the long-run, it's more profitable than a nice car.

I'll echo everyone on how adorable Cerise is. I love her rounded features.
