No. They have to be from founders and heirs only.

Thanks for the clarification, trip. I thought as much, otherwise where's the challenge! I gather either of the founders can make the first contribution, though (that is fairly clear in the rules).

Let's hope I can turn things around, otherwise I'm going to have to restart :P

I used four unbreakable teleporters as one of the collections for the first town (upgraded appliances).  Could I still have teleporters as lifetime rewards for one of the collections for another town?

Another cheeky question: can the 2 unique best friends of Heir #1 be both founders?

@TheWaybad: Yes, as long as no one else in the household are best friends with them and they aren't best friends with each other.

@TheWaybad: Yes, as long as no one else in the household are best friends with them and they aren't best friends with each other.

But isn't there a problem with that? The rules say they need to be unique best friends, but in order to have a baby the founders' relationship must be around the best friend level, which should make them ineligible since they're no longer unique. (Right? I'm pretty sure that's how it works.)

2). Have 2 Unique Best Friends. Best Friend status (check the heir’s relationship panel) must be maintained in order to Try for Baby and the next heir. After an heir is born you are allowed to have a Best Friend relationship decay. These Best Friends must be totally unique to a given heir and cannot be Best Friends with anyone else in the household.

Still in the middle of my Life States Dynasty, but after the slow-moving-Sim glitch messed up Gen 4's toddler stage a bit and put me behind schedule I'm thinking about taking a break and trying this one. But all the pre-planning is a bit..daunting. :-\ Is anyone just flying by the seat of their pants, or are most of you guys plotting out the general trajectory? Any advice on how to get started?

I have put down a rough plan, mostly to make sure I get enough career rewards in each town and listing which skills and rabbithole careers there are (since I have ITF installed and need to be in rabbithole careers to get ops) but I'm mostly just flying by the seat of my pants - the way I like to play ;)

I think a dynasty as long as this needs to have some planning to make it succesful, but other than that I don't think you need to micro manage it like an ID since there is much more freedom with moving people in and out of the house.

Yes you can, but as enderkay points out if your founders are best friends with each other, then it makes them not unique and hence ineligible.  Your founders must not reach best friends status with each other ever, if you want to count them as unique for heir 1.

It's a good job romance is dead in my household :P

I think the only requirement for baby making is just to be at least "friends" and romantically involved, right? My founders (created in CAS and given spouse relationship therein) can have babies, and their relationship bar isn't even near "good friends" level (or at least is just at it).

Ah really? It can be that low? I usually just get the relationship up as high as possible before trying for baby, so I think I assumed it was a requirement. If not..that's interesting. *devious*

I'm a fly by the seat of my pants gal too. I've played long enough to know that I need to reserve at least 4 high value collections to make sure that I hit the cap in each world, and reserve the best money makers for everyone.

With trophies, do they have to be career related? Or can we use any of the trophies that were collected in the trophy challenge last year?

Its career rewards.  Some trophies are career related, some are not.

Me again: sorry. I know it seems like I'm asking for a lot of hand-holding, but truth of the matter is I'm actually quite dense :P

When it says "unique" is that just for heirs, or does that included founders too? ie I've unwittingly put heir #1 in the same career as one of the founders. The founder hasn't maxed it yet. But I fear it's therefore not "unique". :( Would that be the same for skill opportunities? i.e. if the founders already have it, then you can't claim it for the heirs?

Its career rewards.  Some trophies are career related, some are not.

So we can only use the certificates for maxing out a skill if that skill is directly related to the career, or not at all?
