I will try that tomorrow since I need to go to sleep now. Results of the reload will come sometime tomorrow then.

Ok, I think the Grim has taken a permanent holiday...

I reloaded an earlier save, earlier from the same day that Artemisia died, there was indeed a homeless dog that had wandered into the house earlier (it wandered out again during the previous play through). This time it decided to die, my sims got the usual grieve interruption,  no ghost, no grim once again...

I think the file might be entirely bugged with that event happening.

Can you try evicting your family in edit town mode, then move them back in the house and see if that fix the problem?  Other than that, I don't know what else to have you try.  I'm sorry this is happening, you might have to restart your dynasty.

So one of my heirs has maxed Social Networking. I also have the option to set Grim Reaper as a Best Friend - can Reaper be counted amongst those unique BFs, or no? I obviously have no way to check the panel short of killing someone, but I figured that just before it's time for the heir to be conceived, I'd set the relationship then.

Shirin-
Team has decided Grim Reaper can be counted amongst those unique best friends.

Sure, I'll try that - if it doesn't work I'll remove some expansion and stuff packs and sort through the store content I have to relieve the load on the game a bit before I start it again.

Edit: Never mind, the file seems to have gone away somehow, I'll have to restart either way. Oh well I learned lots on how to handle this dynasty so next try should go better.

I just got a skill opportunity with ITF installed. I think it's because she was on a community lot when the call came.

Which one did you get? I've gotten about 4 of them for the Laser Rhythm-a-con, but that's it (other than career ones).

It was a handiness one, fixing the TV, and she was at the junkyard when the call came. But she has received calls at rabbit hole lots that didn't turn into an opportunity.

I got a cooking op while at work. For me it seems that if the sim is at a rabbithole they get the op window, if they are just at a rabbithole they don't. Maybe they are unable to deny the op since there isn't any autonomous action for that while at work so it's up to the watcher.

Hmmm, I may need to test this myself.

Fortunately, world 2 lives in the 5 bedroom house directly across from the school in Riverview, so telling them to run over to the school shouldn't be an issue. (Although, it makes the bus pickups, limos for proms, and carpool for teachers...hilarious.)

I got two more ops, one in athletics and one celebrity - on both occasions the sim was in a rabbithole.
