Um. My apologies for double-posting, but, uh....

So while at University, Generation 6 was abducted by an alien. No big deal, she's a female so she won't get an alien baby. However, I figured he'd be a good spouse. So she came home, and invited him to visit. He came to visit while she's at work, but again, no big deal, she's off at 2pm.

While she's at work, her mother (Generation 5) became friends with the guest. And promptly, at 2pm, the game gives me the notice that the alien passed on due to old age. Except....he's still chatting with Generation 5. I had planned to have #6 invite him to move in, and then marry him. However, the notice has now made it that that #6 cannot interact with him. At all. But #5 still can! Up to and including inviting him to move in.

So, I guess my question is, can I have #5 invite him to move in, and still have #6 marry him? Or does she go to Spouse Option #2?

Edit: Actually, I'll just go with option #2. I decided that my not-dead dead alien can move in and marry the roommate instead. And for someone who's not-dead dead, he's at the start of the Elder lifespan. LOL Silly game.

Sadly I'm having further problems with my traveling sims. I sent two sims to university and as soon as they arrived they somehow became corrupted and the save went bad. I am unable to send them home form university, either by letting their finish their term or by having them quit earlier. I have tried going back to the previous saves at uni, and tried going home from them, but they were all corrupt too.

Can I go back to before I sent them to uni and try again?

@saltpastillen — no problem going back to an earlier save. Good luck.

Thanks, I don't know why I persist in trying to travel with my sims when I always end up with the same result. If I can't get this to work I will just stop trying all together. It's just to frustrating.

I was having the same issues in a different file, it appears that my game hated the idea of my sims being in a dorm. Without fail, the showers were no longer selectable, and by the 2nd or 3rd night, they would reset when trying to eat from the fridge (usually a quick meal), or go to bed, or do anything. Half the time, they were invisible after resetting. And at least once, the family tree broke too.

In my Dynasty, I avoided the problem by sending my Sim to rent a house instead. Worked perfectly for the 2 week term.

Hoping that helps somewhat.

@thanks, but I did set them up with a private house and no luck.

Sadly it seems as if all my game files (or my folder) have been corrupted. I will try a factory reset to see if this solves anything otherwise I might have to start over.

I have a new and interesting issue.

My sims age up only 1 day per game session. Time still passes, moodlets are dropping in days, but the days to aging up will go up one day the first night, then just sit there until I save, quit to the main menu (or quit altogether) and will reset to normal aging up on the first night of the new session. Then they stop aging again.

I can currently figure out when I should be aging up Generation 6 and her fiance to the next life stage, based on her University graduation moodlet. It's also the same time when her parents should age up as well, so I can handle them. My problem is my alien elder. I'd really rather not have to quit to the main menu and then start a new session every day until he dies, so when he hits what should be 52 days, may I murder him flatter than dead? (I don't care if he goes on a jellybean eating spree, or if I use the TCE method.) I'd rather not boot him out because of story purposes, but that's a minor nitpick.

Edit: I've tried resetting all the sims, cleared all the caches, restarted the game/computer, and all the other fun stuff. I'm not sure if this aging issue will go away when the next generation is born, but world 2 founders had no aging problem, and only one of them had an extended life via Elixir of Fountain of Youth.

@Shirin

Moving town will solve the aging issues, will that messed up your story?  You have permission to uproot them and move to new town in the middle of your town 2, however you will need to find a 5th town for your complete dynasty.

That sounds like what happened to me. Perhaps it was the Fountain of Youth elixir that did it? I know my ageing difficulties started after my Sims took Young Again potions from the chemistry table.

I sounds exactly like what happened in my 4x4 after using a young again potion on one sim. Everyone was infected.

Thank god both of your experiences warned me against that! I use fountain of youth elixirs if I want someone to be a young adult again, no problems with them so far.

That's good to know I'm slowly playing an unofficial life states dynasty and have been avoiding fountain of youth elixirs too. Maybe I'll go ahead and try them. You've given me courage.
