The IF gets to do whatever you want them to do.

Thank you Trip, sorry for being over cautious but I failed my first life states dynasty because of an IF made real when I shouldn't have done it yet, I'm very wary about them now.

If you're super over-paranoid, just wait until YA-hood, and have the current heir do all the inviting.

So, Generation 15 went to Oasis Landing with the household. Completed her 4 opps, registered as an astronomer.

I can't get her to go to work, she goes in and then resets outside. I resetsim her, she reset outside. I resetsim her, then resetsim the plumbot outside, 'cause I saw somewhere that a plumbot wanting to scan the sim caused the issue. She resets outside. I cleared caches, restarted game. She resets outside. I figured, "fine, I'll just finish out the last two generations at home," but can't send the household to the time portal because...they reset outside.

Suggestions, hints, fixes? Alternatively, if none, may I return to a previous save?

Do they get a career outfit for that job? i've had sims reset and unable to work when their outfit has got messed up, making a secondary outfit at the dresser usually fixed it, not sure about the time portal though, that's very odd  :-\

I have a question of my own, my gen 4's spouse was a lvl 3 cemetery worker when they moved from Dragon Valley to Monte Vista, I'm on my last gen in Lucky Palms now and one of the potential spouses I'm looking at for the move to Aurora Skies has been working at the cemetery since his teens when I first arrived so safe to say he's probably maxed it. Does it matter between spouse/founders what job they have or does it make him invalid because spouse/founder 4 had the same career?

I hope that makes sense I'm rubbish at explaining myself sometimes  :-[

@Shirin Try changing their career outfit/planning them a new one at the dresser first. You can return to a previous save if that doesn't work.

@Turoskel It shouldn't matter if founders and spouses do the same thing as another founder or spouse. Especially not if it's a part-time career.

Thanks Trip, I just wanted to be sure but it proved irrelevant in the end, she wouldn't make her mind up which guy she wanted so I chose for her and didn't pick him.

So off to world four now, seems to have gone by so fast! I recently got three more worlds, Hidden Springs from the origin sale, Sunlit Tides from Daily Deal and Midnight Hollow from Make Me an Offer, so with either Roaring Heights or Barnacle Bay I might try another of these dynasties afterwards, or perhaps the townie one, I've really enjoyed moving towns, it seems to keep me ahead of most of the glitches as well, Lucky Palms is just starting to get some which is fine as I'm leaving it now.

Well, back to a previous save.

The whole family disappeared from view, and I couldn't get Autumn to a dresser to edit her outfit. She'd either reset on the stairs, or in the elevator. I tried to switch her to everyday outfits, and poof! She disappeared. No idea where her mother or sisters went, and her brother hung around and then disappeared too.

*sigh*

That's just plain odd. :(

Go back to whatever save you need to in order to continue.

Right trying again, typed this all out but when I posted it said I got locked out, odd.

So my current heir has gone to Egypt specifically to get the falafel recipe, it's been 7 generations since I was last there and I think something got messed up with role assignement as there is no book merchant or special merchant, the other registers are manned though.

I tried a resetsim in case they were stuck but while the rest returned those two still didn't and there is no map tag for a special merchant either, not so bothered about the special merchant anyway but I need that recipe to finish the op or I've totally wasted a trip, can I please replace the register to see if it spawns a new merchant?

Okay well it worked eventually, first couple of replacements did nothing then I thought lets try placing several one might spawn a merchant, so for six book registers I finally got two merchants and four still empty, stupid workaround but I got my recipe, hope that was okay to put so many down but I was running out of ideas and wasting all their vacation time waiting for it to work.

Of course I now find out he doesn't even have the skill to learn it yet  ::)

You had to do what you had to do. Continue on as normal, but maybe with more hours at the library to read some skill books!
