Thanks Trip, guess Gino is out then as he's half way up level 9 already and it's his lifetime wish so not worth the hassle.

Not sure what it is about that particular shade of pink that hurts my eyes but I had a bad migraine last week and my eyes were very light sensitive for a few days and I just couldn't look at her, she spent her entire childhood with an alien head on just so I could play  ;D

KRae, yes I know not quite the best choice of outfit, obviously it seems it's just me who has issues with it. My eyes have been bad since birth and certain colours seem more offensive than others, that shade just really isn't good for them, but I've worked around it so far and I'm just hoping her descendants get a different one. I really thought her Mithrilin father was on the blue skintone but it seems he was on the bright rainbow one  ::)

I had a bad evening last night in my game and something happened that I'm not sure if it messed up any HoF chance or not.

Basically before traveling I took all my graves out of family inventory and put them in the garden, when the household returned I didn't pick them up again as I was intent on my heir, she had 3 days to finish before old age hit her, well she did it late on her birthday and ate a plate of ambrosia straight after finishing, I sent her home and told her boyfriend to replicate a plate for himself.

This is when it all started to go wrong, despite saying she had 15 days to elder she started having her birthday anyway, I was so caught out by that I forgot the boyfriend and his plate of ambrosia, one second I saw generation ones ghost float past the next he ran past my screen fully alive and out of the house  :o

He was one of my moving tombstones but from town one, this is town three, does it matter now or has he failed me? maybe I'm thinking too much in Immortal dynasty terms here.

By "moving tombstone," do you mean one that was part of the requirements, or a non-required one you took with you?

The former may have broke the rules a long time ago because their tombstone needed to stay in that world. And I think the intention is for them to stay dead.

If a tombstone isn't part of the requirements, no harm done if they decide to break free.

His tombstone was one of the requirements but I was under the impression you could take them all with you going by this rule:

Quote
Items/Sims Heirs #4, #8, and #12 can take to the next world:

A spouse or potential spouse. No other Sims may move to the next world. You can also wait to find a spouse for an heir in the next neighborhood.
Heirs #4, #8, and #12 and their spouses/potential spouses are allowed to pack up any career rewards that they earned before the move. They cannot bring career rewards from other Sims.
    The family graveyard.
    Pets.
Any future/vacation homes need to be sold along with their contents before moving to a new world.

I know during the workbench it was discussed about taking the graves as it keeps the family tree intact, well in theory but in practice it breaks due to other things.

The Townie dynasty on the other hand you have to leave them behind.

Regardless of taking or not taking though if the intention is to stay dead then I guess he has failed me as far as HoF goes. I'm going to just carry on though if that's the case, don't really want to start over when I'm nine generations in and I'd like to finish it, can always start a new one with gen 16 maybe.

Yeah, I knew I was confusing it with the decadynasty. My mistake.

It's a shame. Sorry to hear that. :(

Me too but I'm still enjoying it, I wasn't last night though as I was so frustrated and annoyed at myself for not paying attention, my boyfriend found it hilarious though and said it was a good example of free will at work  ::)

I found my escapee sim working as a paparazzi, I've moved him back in so will get his tombstone back when he dies again the silly old sod. In the meantime I've put him back to work on the alchemy station, he might as well make himself useful after all the trouble he's caused me  :P

Here's my take, as someone who is working on generation 14.

The rules say that you can take the tombstones, not that you must. My personal feelings (mod feelings may vary) are that generation one is for world one - if you're on world three, then the requirements had been met for world one. There was nothing about dead sims staying dead, just that you needed four obelisk tombstones to move worlds (which were fulfilled).  Therefore, technically, the rules aren't broken.

But, that's just me.

I see the merit behind that argument too.

Just keep playing to the rules otherwise, Turoskel. Most of the energy nowadays go towards the TS4 side of things, and I'm a poor decision maker. :P

I'll admit I was never sure about the staying dead issue, I have turned down the oh my ghost op repeatedly despite needing ops and also having plenty of ghosts to use for it, I just wasn't sure if it was okay to do so rejected it and waited for something else to come up.

I do sort of notice how quiet this area is now TS4 is out, I don't have it or plan on getting it any time soon, it just doesn't appeal to me right now and TS3 is still fun so I shall do as you say Trip and keep playing, thank you both  :)

Of course with 6 generations still to go I could quite easily mess up between now and then, I think I would still try again though, I'm enjoying the moving and exploring towns I've not really played in, which if I'm honest is most of them, it's dragged me out of my comfort zone of Riverview and that's not a bad thing really.

Glad you're having fun! I'll try to make a solid decision on the ghost issue soon.

Speaking of generation 14.

I sent her to University. Last heir who went was generation...3. The whole thing was wonky as heck. Apparently, when G3 left, it was in the first days of winter, because spring time hit when G12 was preparing to leave. She returned home...to the first days of autumn.

It's making the whole "fish up 20 different fish" difficult, as the mini-ponds are blocks of ice, but it's a great way to analyze fish for the Science skill.

Just wanted to share that. ;D

Alright, my decision:

Ghosts that are used for requirements have to stay dead. I saw some merit to Shirin's argument, but I think this is more in the spirit of the rules.

But because this wasn't clarified before, I'm giving Turoskel a pass. Don't mess up again!

Just so I don't inadvertently mess up again I thought I'd check this, my current heir made friends with his IF enough for it to grow up, he just did the 'when dreams come true' op so has a potion for it, I think it's a boy like my heir going by it's teenage voice so wont be a spouse but can he be a spare household member if I make him real? and if so can the IF marry, have kids, move out or any of those things?
