how do I get my Sims to buy a car?

I installed the Prius package and have the cash to buy one.  So my question is, how do I get my Sims to buy a car? :)

In buy mode, go to the vehicle section/outdoor section and choose a car. Hope this helps! :)

You also need to buy a parking space. After you buy your car and place it the space, you can move it to your sims inventory, if you like, and delete the parking space. However, the space allows multiple sims to use the car.

I'm assuming I can 'buy" the parking space from Buy Mode?
