Unstoppable Burglar!
« on: August 14, 2010, 01:56:42 PM »
I continue with playing my ghost sim, when I've now noticed something. I'm certain it wasn't this way before she died, but now my sim can go into anyone's house, without permission, at any time of the day. Unless I've gotten a strange glitch, ghosts can go into people's homes without ringing the doorbell (I've checked several houses; it isn't just one), couple that with "inappropriate, but in a good way" LTR so they can't throw you out again and you've gotten the ultimate klepto of my wildest dreams! >:D
No sim can hate you too much, no sim can close their garage of expensive cars to you at night. The world is your oyster!

Has anyone else seen this!?

I've only played once with a ghost sim and I never tried that! Wow, that sounds like an evil plan in the making here... hehehe...

Hahaha, that is really truly something for you to try that out Swede! :D
I've never encountered it myself, just because I normally never play with ghosts or any other X-files related 'living' being ingame. The only exception was for writing the Making Monster guide.

Now when it has gone a couple of days, I can say that I love this feature.
As said in the building thread a while ago, my sim is currently building herself a house, but in the meantime, I'm investing all earnings in real-estate, so it can take a while. The thing is, I don't feel the need of any house: Even with my hobo-sim I played a while ago there were some limitations to staying at people's houses; got to be friends; if you're outside at 23h, you can forget sleeping in a bed etc. Now, I can come and go whenever I will, anywhere, for as long as I like!

It still feels like I had a stroke of incredible luck when I decided to make her into a ghost. ;D

I think Swede has some tricks up his sleeve!  That's not one of the regular icons for the forum, but I cheated and looked inside his post.  He did it with these symbols:  > : D

I saw someone using that smiley several months back and I noticed that the forum program actually did recognise it somehow. So I cheated similarly to what Pam did and remembered it for the perfect post to use it in. ;D

Try to copy them from msn, if you have that.

@ Swede: how is your burgler experiment coming along?

It's still working perfectly. No need for my sim to ever work again! :D

How rich is he now? And the persons from who he is stealing, do they replace their stolen goods with new ones?

First of all, the sim is a she; secondly, she's getting increasingly rich as I can reinvest the money I get from stealing and not having to worry about having a place of her own to eat and sleep in, so let's say she's up to a couple of hundred thousand simoleons without working ever; thirdly, I haven't played Sims the last weeks due to school starting and other computer games taking up my time, so it will go a lot quicker if you're more active.

The household do buy back the stuff eventually, I'm quite certain on that, but it may take a while so you'll have to switch accomodation every now and then! ;)
